So if we're not rivals with Derby...?

I agree with it depends on where you live. I live in Rugby and the town seem to be split 65% Coventry fans and 35% Leicester fans, so for me I hate Dirty Coventry more than Derby or Forest.

The same old threads churned over and over, slightly re-hashed with a (not so) subtle name change,

It's like fucking groundhog day on here. :tumbleweed:

I don't hate any team (with the possible understandable exception of Man Utd, who aren't a team so much as a corporation). In fact I quite like Derby, Forest, etc and when we're in different leagues I miss the games we play against them.

I wouldn't like to be someone who 'hates' a team just to follow the herd, as many do on this website and indeed at the Walkers.

I like the rivalry with our Midlands neighbours, my best man is a Derby fan and it's always a bone of contention between us.

But hate? With people I don't even know?

Sorry, but the mentality of some people is lost on me...

^^^^^ what he said ^^^^ ( except the bit about the best man)

i love the rivalry but there,s no hate there, i drink in a pub with forest, derby, qpr, chelsea, wolves, man utd, southampton, hamilton accies, liverpool, newcastle, leeds, supporters who are all regulars and it makes a great friendly atmosphere most weekends.

personnally out of all of the above id sooner beat leeds because i have some good friends who are leeds fans (this seasons been full of gloating so far :scarf: )

I work in Long Eaton which is like a Duckbilledplattipus of a town - Half Sheep, half Red, little bit Magpie??? If that makes any sense.

The people are alright and have helped me to figure out how the rivalry in the East Midlands works. (I know that Leeds and coventry are not in the East Midlands).

Also, I am not going to include the rivalry with the Mansfields and Chesterfields of this world because I do not want to insight the anger of dead end chav towns, nor can anyone outside of these shite holes be bothered with it. If you have never been to Mansfield, watch the film, 28 days later??? Get your jabs before you go.

The main East Midlands Rivalry

Derby has a main rival in For**t, and the same with the other.

For example, "We'd rather bomb Derby than Iraq" chant. I find this a bit sick, but that is Nottingham scum for you. Arrogant and mentally ill.

Their rivalry is due to the obvious proximity of the two cities and the management history of Sir Brian Clough - a man who even many Leicester fans can find the time to respect.

Derby have a big rivalry with Leeds, again because of Clough. This is a bit like our rivalry with Coventry, but a bit more physical because food rationing ended in Leeds in 1992. We still have that advantage over Coventry, although I do feel sorry for them because not even the Germans could sort out their road planning problems.

However, back to Leeds: their fans can even fall out with themselves because there is not much to do "up north" but keep warm and beat up the kids. This is why they have a bit of a thing with Us - they think the Baby Squad are some just their children that fooked off south in 1982 when they took too long gassing and having a fag in Morrisons.

I feel that the Baby Squad have done their best to correct this falacy, but most Leeds fans are stubborn and thick. A good ruck after a game is just interpreted as an informal greeting by some people from Yorkshire.

The Reds think they have a bit of a thing with Liverpool, but Liverpool don't really give a shit any more.

Leicester shares no mutual or unique rivalry with any team. We have lots of rivalries with teams that hold us as a second or third rival. I like this situation, I mean, who could really be a Fulham fan with Chelsea down the road??? I used to respect Man City, (pre-richest club syndrome) but the past 40 years must have been very character building for the Citizens.

So, We can hate For**t all we like, but they hate Derby most and Derby hate them the most.

We can hate Derby, but they have a main concern up the A52.

We hate Coventry, but Coventry hates the Villa the most. But the Villa hates Birmingham, and are a bit embarrassed to be associated with Cov - even the Garmans took a dislike of the place.

I find that, generally, Derby fans are far less arrogant and more conversational than For**t fans. I have had many good conversations with the Sheep Shaggers about how disgusting the table manners of For**t fans are, but the Reds (so named after the colour of their shit) have become star struck with their two European Cups in the Clough era.

I actually like some Derby fans, I just find their team brilliant to ridicule. Who wants to be associated with sheep??? It is a bit like a parent who calls their son Isaac Hunt. Where is the long term thinking lads???

The two year period when For**t won the European Cups was fantastic for a club of their size, and I applaud that.

But I also applaud Blackburn Olymipic for winning the FA Cup in 1883, but the dirty Reds seem to think that this gives them the divine right to think they are always going to be the best club in the whole of the world. This and because of some refference to the city in a Robin Hood film.

No one gives a shit about Notts County. Not even For**t. Some people in Nottingham even have a season ticket for both teams. Now this, to me, is nothing more than an indication of a personality disorder.

To sum up, in a sentence, Leicester are the best team to support.

Forrest, Derby and Coventry are all our rivals it's down to a matter of opinion who you personally think are our main rivals.

I work in Nottingham so obviously that game is the biggest for me!

The people were I work say they don't really consider us to be there rivals as they hate Derby so much but I think that's just bollocks to wind me up!

At the end of the day none of our rivals consider us to be their number one rival!

Sorry I don't know how I've managed to post this twice!

Forest then Derby for me. Not at all arsed about Cov. It's a stinking sh.ithole with a crap football team nowhere near worthy of rival status.

Could'nt have put it better myself...

It's Derby for me.

only football fans, in a perverse form of logic, would consider that not being hated enough by another group of fans constitutes an insult :D
