Danglo Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 Sooooo Whaddya reckon? I'd like to think hovering around the top 6, seeing as we're only 5 points off it now
shailen Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 We would have been higher up the table obv but i would say no higher than 4th. For me, if he had been here all season, he wouldnt have made as big of an impact as he did after the awful management style of sousa. having said that sousa was unlucky in a few games, ie/ (cov and boro) to not get all 3 points but all in all, there is no doubt we would have been challenging for automatic promotion. If we can keep this run going theres no reason why we cannot achieve it either!
Foxblogger Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 If the season had started on 1st October (the day Sousa was dismissed) Leicester City would be 2nd.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 We'd be higher than we are now, top 8 at the least I'd say.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 Who can say? Might it not be that the drop in form at the season start might have been in some part from the lose of a good manager and a belief by the players that the new managers ways were not going to be as good and a refusal to adapt? Sven came into the team at a time when they were more willing for change, though of course, given his track record, no doubt there would be more belief in him. In short, I just don't think you can really say - there are too many vagaries in this game.
body102 Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 Sven has got them playing with confidence again , plus the players he has brought in are quality . With his contacts i expect more to arrive in january . I know some people will be disappointed with some of the players he will ship out (fyatt i can see going), but it will only be for the good of the club and sven has already turned down players because they dont add anything better to the squad . Times are looking good and if we could actually secure davies and naughton permanently that would be a good start , maybe they will bea bit out of our price range it all depends how much the investers want to spend . Anyway its lookiing good 17 points out of the last 24 is promotion form
Huuuuuume Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 Played 17 games total this season. Under Sousa, played 9 games and got 5 points. Under Sven, played 8 games and got 14 points. Under Powell, played 1 game and got 3 points. (Average under Sousa - 0.55 a game.) Average under Sven = 1.75 points. So multiply Sven's average by the 17 games = 29.75 points... Therefore, strictly speaking we'd be... 2nd/3rd.

Huuuuuume Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 average under powell = 3 points a game!!! Haha, damn meant to put that in brackets too! Crissy P for Prez!
ajthefox Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 it's not as simple as just extrapolating our form under sven though is it. It's fair enough to say we'd pobably be higher up as it would be hard for anyone to have us worse off than what we were after the defeat to norwhich, I'm inclined to think maybe we'd be well up there but you just don't know. Sven came in when the team were at a low so obviously it was more of a wow factor and confidence seems to be rocketing now. If he came in after Pearson and had pre-season etc I think that even though everyone would still be in awe, the effects might not hve been quite so strong and maybe we'd be mid table.

Blue Bob Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 And if my auntie had balls she would be my uncle!!
Lichfieldfox. Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 Irrelevent topic. We are where we are and we will go up at end of season I hope as Sven is doing a great job.
ozleicester Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 If, ifs and buts were candy and nuts... we'd all have fun for christmas

Average under Sven per game = 2pts So points after 17 games = 34 points! Slightly, they are very wrong! Sorry... but you get the point... We'd be near the top if Sven had been here from day 1 if result were consistent with those under him so far.
