StanSP Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 New boy, Omotoyassi scored. Schlupp, Lamey, Berner and Moussa got the others. Kyrikiadis and Omo rated 7/10 according to Stringer. Keeper had nothing to do. Fryatt could have had four in the first half. Easy match really. Sven, Derek and Thais were there.
hackneyfox Posted 16 November 2010 Author Posted 16 November 2010 Found it Omotoyossi scored a right foot volley, according to official LCFC Facebook page. Also Berner, Lamey, Moussa and Schlupp. I was hoping that Omotoyossi or Fryatt would have scored all 5, make selection a bit easier.
hackneyfox Posted 16 November 2010 Author Posted 16 November 2010 You beat me to it, thanks though. Fryatt fooks up again and in front of the big guns.
MrSpaM Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 Good result for the reserves, sounds like they had a decent game. Dissapointing to hear Fryatt didnt get any goals though, he desperatly needs to proove himself if he's to start first team matches again. I for one would be sad to see him go if we end up selling him, especially knowing what he's capeable of. Really not been his season at all.
MPH Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 This was a reserves game. We win5-1 and fryatt does not score. Goodbye fryatt
LCFCkid Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 Crncic played Luks like the mystery is solved!
Thracian Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 Fryatt might well have temporarily lost his sharpness for scoring goals - and not for the first time - but in assessing his value it is not all about goals. It's about how he fits into the team. And in terms of that aspect he's well down the pecking order as far as I can see.
North-LondonFox Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 Does anyone know why Jorrin John didn't play? If he can't get a game for the second string surely he needs a loan? I really feel for Fryatt I think he has genuine class and it'd be a shame to let him go!

Would love to say that suprises me but, well, it really doesn't. Quite the opposite, infact.
Father Ted Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 Yes Schlupp! Stick him on the bench next match. Can't do anybody no harm, except the opposition.
Heskey2011 Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 I saw Schlupp play away at Rotherham pre season and he was decent, puts himself about bit.
Thracian Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 It really says it all that we're more interested in three unknowns who are touting their services to "any takers" while few show the slightest interest in a prospect like Schlupp who has helped us to a youth championship, done much to put us top of this season's table and has scored for fun ever since he arrived here. It was just the same during our relegation year when there was barely a whisper calling for King to be in the team cos we'd rather have the the travelling salvation show which did us no good whatsoever in the end. I don't even watch the kids any more cos they've got next to no chance of coming through to our first team unless the authorities take the initiative and pave a way for them. The only encouragement is that Sven and Faz at least seem prepared to watch em but it's a long, long time since just one found his way through what with having no regular reserves team. Our club is rather like an engineering firm which doesn't seem to have the skills or commitment to finish a guys apprenticeship properly, something which requires them to offer the chance of experience and opportunity among other things. Or would the club really say that all these emerging young footballers honestly aren't good enough? Cos I just don't believe it. As I see it, a legacy of the Mandaric era is that we no longer have the structure for finishing beyond the Academy level. And that's pretty much all I'll remember him for, apart from his Blair-like take on the truth.

Guest ttfn Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 Just because Fryatt didn't score it doesn't mean he didn't contribute. I would be surprised if he didn't have a role to play in one/some of the goal(s). In pre-season when he wasn't scoring he was setting them up all over the place. Could be totally wrong. As Thracian says, it's not about how many goals an individual scores, it's about how they fit into the team. And unless we play 4-4-2 he doesn't. And it breaks my heart because I think he's done a pretty decent job for us, over a comparatively long period of time. I can't see many of our current squad lasting the 5 years he's been in the first team. King? Possibly, but if we don't go up this season or look like we're going up in January 2012, he'll be gone. Hobbs? Has slipped down the pecking order, could be out soon. Morrison? Maybe. Lloyd? Let's hope so. But he's our longest serving player for ages, and a welcome change from the revolving door policy of the Levein and then the Mandaric era. On another note, people forget how this time last season he was winning games for us virtually all on his own.

If you want to prove a point and prove you're good enough, and with his calibre, you have got to be scoring in the reserves. King's been with us for more than 5 years hasn't he? Jack Hobbs isn't that far down the pecking order. In fact, it's either Davies/Vitor or Davies/Hobbs. I don't think we'll sell him. Last season before the broken jaw was a good time for him, of course. But this season he doesn't even seem to be bothered. He doesn't want to try and force his way in to the team. No idea why but maybe the departure of Pearson has affected him more so than others.

If so, I'll accept your first point, if not, then it's invalid; our understanding of the match is based on one person's opinion. 2) If he's getting in the positions, that's a good thing. What worries me about his present form in the first team is that he's not even getting into the position to miss chances. 3) Andy King has been in the first team for 3 years. 4) I agree, his attitude isn't good at the moment. In the past I think he's been unfairly criticised as being lazy, but this year he has been. No idea what it's down to.

Five years during which we've plunged to unknown depths of the football league, far from it being a recommendation you have to wonder why he's still here playing Championship football if he's so good, his potential to improve must be seen as minimal. Besides we've got enough so called strikers that don't score on a consistent basis. He's an ok footballer.
StanSP Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 I didn't go and admittedly am just basing opinions on one or two persons. But if Lamey and Berner and a trialist (no offence to them) can get on the scoresheet do you not expect a striker who's rated highly to get at least one? If he got four or five assists then fair play to him, but so far I've seen no mention of him doing so or even getting one.
B52 Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 First, if anybody will get the academyplayers through to first team it is Sven with Tord Grip. They are probably developing the academy into something great.... Second, Fryatt is a valuable player if he gets in goalscoring positions 4 times under 45 minutes. And he probably made room for the teammates so they could score. 4 goals in the first half when he played, 1 goal without him.
Brainy Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 But if Lamey and Berner and a trialist (no offence to them) can get on the scoresheet do you not expect a striker who's rated highly to get at least one? So whenever a defender scores a goal then basically you have to have scored 6/7 goals otherwise your strikers have failed? Tit.
