Reserves win 5-1 How did the 3 newbies do?

It seems easy to slag of Fryatt at the moment. Lets be honest he's barely had a chance this season.

He came off the bench at Norwich, scored twice, that could have been a boost for him. Instead he got himself sent off (harshly) which meant he missed the start of the Sven era which has put him behind. Admittedly he's not done anything in the opportunities he has had but he's never been much impact off the bench (apart from Norwich).

Not saying he should be in the team but people are quick to slag him off.

And saying we should get rid becuase he missed 4 chances, without knowing anything about the game or any other aspect of his game is a bit silly. Howard and Waghorn miss chances on a regular basis, Howard is lucky to hit the target unless its a penalty yet he's still a god.

So whenever a defender scores a goal then basically you have to have scored 6/7 goals otherwise your strikers have failed? Tit.

Way to put words in my mouth, disabled.

Just because Fryatt didn't score it doesn't mean he didn't contribute. I would be surprised if he didn't have a role to play in one/some of the goal(s).

In pre-season when he wasn't scoring he was setting them up all over the place.

Could be totally wrong.

As Thracian says, it's not about how many goals an individual scores, it's about how they fit into the team. And unless we play 4-4-2 he doesn't. And it breaks my heart because I think he's done a pretty decent job for us, over a comparatively long period of time.

absolutely.

make no mistake, the only difference between howard being the new vieri  in the last few games and the donkey that got dropped to the bench, is the 2 penalties he's had - if we're talking about converting opportunities, howard is the worst striker we have. of course (debatably) its his contribution to the team that has him starting.

the effort and passion fryatt showed against norwich shows that he still wants to be a part of this team

no where did he say you have to of scored 6 or 7. read it again.

you are the tit.

he made a very valid point.

So in order of players that should be scoring, it must be

Striker, Striker, Midfielder, Midfielder, Midfielder, Midfielder, Defender, Defender, Defender, Defenfer, Keeper.

That is pretty much the way it came across.

What the chuff's a defenfer? Stop being a picky little nob. Everyone else knew what he meant.

i find it amazing that on a daily basis people are arguing over fyatt. most threads are being turned into a full scale war of words about him. the team is more than just 1 player. this topic is asking how the trialists performed. something we should be focusing more on especially if sven decides to take any of them on.

So come on lets stop changing the topics to fryatt as i for 1 am fed up of seeing page upon page of people bickering and slating each other instead of being apart of a chat forum.

First, if anybody will get the academyplayers through to first team it is Sven with Tord Grip. They are probably developing the academy into something great....

Second, Fryatt is a valuable player if he gets in goalscoring positions 4 times under 45 minutes. And he probably made room for the teammates so they could score. 4 goals in the first half when he played, 1 goal without him.

I wasn't aware that Tord Grip had joined Sven at City?

I know there was speculation in the press that he was coming , but I don't think it happened did it?

Wind back 3 weeks or so and Gallagher was looking unfit and wasn't playing well. Suprise suprise, there were numerous topics saying that he was shite and needed to leave the club. Now his form's improved and all the people who wanted him bombed out for being useless have suddenly piped down.

Fryatt has looked unfit himself in his last few appearances, if he gets some fitness and sharpness back (which could be easier now we have a new fitness coach) he could well be a useful asset. But hey ho, lets all hound him out now why don't we.

you know damn well.

Not really. You were being unnecessarily confrontational and got called up for it.

It's alright acting all butthurt and victimised when you take abuse on this site but it's not exactly like you make any effort what so ever to be likeable is it?

Agreed with ttfn. People are making judgements off a single opinion of somebody who went the game. We all know Stringer's zest for exaggeration and inaccuracy when it comes to describing football.

But you know all about that dont you? Bert bringing up that I mispelt defender and then accusing me of being a picky little nob, are you not aware of what that's called?

And at the risk of sounding all butthurt and victimised, I have done, but i'm always getting the same people throwing unnecassarily abuse so it makes my 'efforts' pretty pointless.

I do know all about that, yes, but then I generally take it all as internet banter without getting sulky.

Regardless of how mean spirited I may seem I do tend to try and be nice to nice people. You've just always struck me as cripplingly dour, miserable, negative and sarcastic.

Truly sorry if I missed a time in your posting when you used to be more light, hearted. :dunno:
