As I’ve said umpteen times before, when speaking of Leicester City, the only prediction you can assert with any degree of confidence is that they are totally unpredictable.

A caller to RL after seeing the game was asked if the Foxes deserved a 2-0 reverse to which they answered an emphatic ‘No!’

Well in my opinion, the team thoroughly deserved it. It was the fans – and especially the 1700+ travelling Foxes fans who didn’t deserve it.

I would hope that the result shames the players into a far greater positive approach and that some bright spark reminds the players that first and foremost, this game is about scoring goals, and they are not paid peanuts but exorbitant wages that most fans can only dream about to actually do exactly that. Just trying to do so is simply not good enough.

Having watched the Tigers demolish the Quins and in particular whilst admiring the pinpoint accurate kicking of Billy Twelvetrees, I am beginning to wonder if some Leicester players train at Welford Road or have adopted Billy as their role model.

And when Howard failed to convert the Penalty, you knew –you just knew - that it wasn’t going to be our day.

I never saw Arthur Rowley miss a penalty. He scored 41 in his career and I saw a fair proportion of them. He always kicked with his left foot and the ball skimmed the turf as it whistled into the bottom left hand corner. There was no hard and fast rule about the goalie staying on his line. It didn’t matter – the goalie’s next job was to retrieve the ball from the back of the net.

And there was Steve Lynex who had a rather more varied approach in the 29 he converted.

Those were the days!!!

Finally a question!

Name the next season when Leicester City will score a goal as a direct result of being awarded a corner. Will it be 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014? Alternatively you may say ‘After 2014’ or ‘Never’.

Here is a clue: they have tried roundabout 140 times this season – and not even come close!

The corner issue is disappointing but it seems to mainly come into play when we lose or draw.. If we win and we don't score from a corner what is the biggy? and if someone says "what if we dominated a game had loads of chances but hit the post from a corner" i'll go mad

When we get a corner is time to take a leak, get a pint or pie...or all of the above.

Its taken for granted that nothing happens, under MON you expected a goal, delivered high into the box with our lack of heading quality they are now an advantage to the defending side.

Rome was'nt built in a day, but we are clearly going in the right direction after a very scary and dangerous period under Sousa.

It's time to support was is quite clearly a much brighter era with both a better Manager and was appears to be bright positive new owners.

Talking of the corner situation, is anyone else old enough to remember the days of the Filbo when we were just amazing at converting corners? The kop end was just brilliant at times, you could see the opposition physically shrinking at the thought of Walsh, Taggart etc in the box, add the deafening noise from the crowd and it felt like we would score ever time.

"We're gonna score in a minute.... score in a minute". Fantastic Days!!!

I think this is part of the problem, most of us remember the MON years and how we built our success on set pieces, deadly accurate corners and free kicks to the likes of Walsh, Elliott and Taggert. We were the exception then and that record is exceptional now. I don't see other teams scoring freely from corners, and I think if you asked fans of other teams they would say they have only scored 3 or 4 from corners this season (anyone know how many we have conceded from corners?). Yes it would be nice to be more of a threat from corners and score more goals but it just seems a strange stick to beat the team with. As is missing 1 penalty when Howard has scored 2 pens in the last few weeks, it happens. You have also glossed over the fact that we have been scoring from free kicks recently, Gallagher and Vitor, and we are playing infinitely better than 3 months ago.

I applaud your positivity, I wish more were like you, and you hit the nail on the head with "don't let your heads drop". You build up this corners thing then in every game we will put added pressure on the corner, and every unconverted corner will feel like a failure, and after every defeat the fans are screaming and shouting "Fooking shit!", "We need 10 more players", "We need new strikers", "New keeper", "What's Sven thinking?", "What's he doing on the pitch?" at least on here anyway, it's pathetic, 8 weeks ago we were bottom. Our confidence and fitness shot to pieces, we are slowly rebuilding but it will take time, we will lose again, and we will fail to convert more corners, we will miss more gilt edged chances and concede some more sloppy goals, these are facts it's what happens in football to all teams all the time. The fact now is that these losses are further apart, we are winning more games and playing much better. There is still room for much more improvement but constantly slating the team and players when we lose our first game in 6 is just sad.

The corners are pathetic... we seriously need to work on our dead ball plays or we'll never find any consistency.

I do however have faith in the current management to sort it out.

I can almost definitely say you will score from some sort of set piece on Monday. We are very accommodating when it comes to defending these, free headers being the order of the day.
