S****HORPE United have missed out on signing defender Michael Morrison.

The Leicester City centre-back had been one of manager Ian Baraclough's top loan targets following injuries to three of their four first-choice centre-backs.

But after being told by the Foxes that the player was likely to be allowed out on loan, the Iron's Championship rivals have now decided to keep the player at the Walkers Stadium.

"Michael was someone I asked about," Baraclough told the Telegraph.

"It was indicated to me that he would be allowed to come out on loan, but they have since changed their mind.

"That's an example of clubs being willing to let players go, the player wants to leave, but then they decide for the last six or seven games until the January window, they want to keep them."

I like Morrison, but he was much better last season, maybe RB is his best position? But he wont get ahead of Naughton.

He is the only centre back who can score from the odd set piece I'll give him that.

Reading between the lines, any permanent deal for Davies looks unlikely at the moment. :( Why else would we keep him if he wants to leave?

To get a fee for him in January rather than loaning him out. :dunno:

The majority of loan deals taking place at the moment lead to permanents.

If we don't get Davies that leaves us with a unfit Tunchev and Vitor who seems to be injured all the time so getting rid of Morrison would be risky.

Either that or Vitor has had another setback. That would leave Morrison as are only back up CB.

Yes.

We'd be short of cover taking into account what you've put, so I can see why we aren't letting him go just yet

Morrison is a good young player and we should keep him, allow him the second half of the season out on loan though so he can continue to develop by playing games

Disapointed for him. Was quality last season with Hobbs but it's just gone tits up this season.

Pearson leaving really did do a good few of our players from last season over.
