Guest Mee-9 Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Roberto Mancini has been named as the Barclays Manager of the Month for December.City's excellent recent form has seen them rise to second place in the table and included a hat-trick of wins over the busy Christmas period. Mancini has also guided the Blues safely into the knock-out stages of the Europa League, and he wins the award from Barclays for the first time since taking over as City manager just over a year ago. Manager of the month curse anyone?
FoxyPV Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 I'm so excited by this - convinced, however foolishly, that we can get at least a draw here (then win at Eastlands). C'MON LEICESTER!!!!! :scarf: :scarf:
davieG Posted 9 January 2011 Author Posted 9 January 2011 OS Sven "For us as a club, for the fans, everybody working at the club and the players it's fantastic. Jack Hobbs against Carlos Tevez will be very good and you can take every position like that. There's the England goalkeeper Joe Hart to try and score past and trying to beat Kolo Toure, who is considered one of the best defenders in the world, and it's fantastic." Sven was pleased when he saw the draw for Sunday's game and is well aware just how important the game is to the Foxes faithful. "When we saw the draw first of all it was too good to be true and when you saw the way the draw was done by the people (Noel Gallagher and Sergio Pizzorno), it was fantastic. If you are a Leicester fan you will love this day, then, after the game, who knows, maybe we are very sad or very happy, but it's a great day for the football club to meet such a lot of good, good football players on the other side. "It can't be much better than that. We know that we will be on television in many countries around the world and we know that our opponents are one of the best teams. We shouldn't be nervous about the game or worried. We will be prepared as best as we can and go out and give it a go. We have nothing to lose." So what chance an upset? Eriksson believes that anything is possible, but accepts that City will need to be at their best to slay the Premier League giants. "We have to play the best football we've played this season, we have to be technically very, very good and of course we have to defend well. We can't give David Silva, Yaya Toure, Carlos Tevez, or whoever it is, space because then they will kill us, which they probably think they will do. They are aggressive as well. They defended for 70 minutes against Arsenal at the Emirates and it was outstanding defending. We have to be aggressive against them and that's a must if we are to have any chance of disturbing them."
MikeyT Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 From the O.S. The Leicester City Ticket Office have this morning reported that the FA Cup Sponsored by E.ON 3rd Round clash with Manchester City is now completely sold out. The last few remaining tickets were snapped up online over night and from the Ticket Office this morning. All hospitality packages, including the Executive Boxes are, are also sold out. A crowd in excess of 31,000 will converge on the Walkers Stadium on Sunday, for what should prove to be a memorable occasion. A Club Spokesperson said, "We have now sold every single seat available in the stadium, apart from the several hundred seats that we have lost to the segregation. The atmosphere inside the stadium will be electric. City fans are urged to arrive at the stadium as early as possible and ensure that they are in their seats well before kick-off. "We strongly advise supporters to get to the stadium in plenty of time to ensure they avoid unnecessary queuing. There will be thousands of supporters collecting tickets before the game, and we have lots planned, so we urge supporters to arrive as early as possible to avoid missing the kick-off."
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Really looking forward to it and lets be honest anything but an absolute tonking by Man City will be a good result on the whole for Leicester - anyone agree???
Fox 4 Life Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Nice article here http://theseventytwo.com/football-league/championship/2011/01/09/the-english-heart-of-leicester-city/?
MikeyT Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Love how we get about 2 lines worth. From ssn. Team news for Leicester's FA Cup third-round clash with Manchester City at the Walkers Stadium on Sunday (4pm). Roberto Mancini will not have Edin Dzeko in his Manchester City squad. Although City have completed a £27million swoop for the Bosnian, the deadline for registrations ahead of this weekend's games was missed and the striker will have to wait until next Saturday against Wolves. However, Pablo Zabaleta will be available after the FA overturned a three-match ban for his dismissal for violent conduct at Arsenal on Wednesday. City (from): Hart, Given, Zabaleta, Richards, Boateng, K Toure, Kompany, Boyata, Kolarov, Lescott, Bridge, Wright-Phillips, Johnson, De Jong, Vieira, Milner, Y Toure, Barry, Tevez, Adebayor, Jo. Leicester boss Sven-Goran Eriksson will have have full-back Kyle Naughton available after he extended his loan deal from Tottenham until the end of the season. However, striker Roman Bednar and central defender Curtis Davies have returned to West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa respectively at the end of their loan spells so will be unavailable for the Foxes.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Cant see us getting anything tbh. Fancy them to bag a few but will be entertaining.
