cc_star Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 They might have spent 393 million on players but at least we don't rent our stadium from the council No, we rent it from some American investment fund
cecchini Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 No, we rent it from some American investment fund Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association - College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA-CREF) is one of the largest financial services companies in the United States, with $398 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2008. thanks wikipedia...
Simmo86 Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 City OS are reporting this as a Sell Out now! Mancs Kinda looking forward to this now. Full house under lights
Stevosevic Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 Good effort considering it's on TV and a sunday. Will be nice to see 30,000+ every week again when we eventually get back to the premiership, i do not enjoy these crowds of less than 25,000, althought it could be worse...could be Coventry.
Corky Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 Sensible ticket pricing has helped get the fans in. Should be a good atmosphere, we seem to get behind the team when we're underdogs.
MikeyT Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 O.S. The Walkers Stadium is bracing itself for the biggest attendance of the season so far on Sunday, for the visit of Premier League big spenders, Manchester City, in the FA Cup Sponsored by E.ON 3rd Round (kick-off 4pm). The Ticket Office have reported that 30,000 tickets have already been sold (Thursday morning) and supporters still to secure their seats are strongly advised to do so at the earliest possible opportunity to avoid disappointment. The match will provide more than a stern test for Sven-Goran Eriksson's side as they compete against some of the very best, and most expensive, players. With Manchester City eager to secure silverware this season, the likes of Carlos Tevez, Micah Richards, Nigel de Jong and Spanish World Cup winner, David Silva could all be part of a strong visiting line-up. City, themselves, will be full of confidence following two successive victories against Hull and Swansea respectively, providing a 100% win record in 2011. But can they beat the mighty Man City and progress to the FA Cup 4th Round?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 I'd love it if we got 32k though with the more Man City fans there is probably more segregation stopping that.
sdb Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 great! bummer my ticket is in the family stand, swear that's not where i said. oh well.
MeatyLCFC Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 I'd love it if we got 32k though with the more Man City fans there is probably more segregation stopping that. 4900 man city fans 1000 seats under segregation plus 25k ish leicester fans, i think you and the man city website is props right! Stevosevic Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 If man city have l1 and were in k1 all there is to separate two sets off fans is a bar between l&k so how does that work?? Line of stewards i believe?
lestajigs Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 Line of stewards i believe? Yea that's what I thought, but with no netting, it's only gonna take out around 100 seats
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 Am I right in saying Man City have a bit of the family stand? Just wondering that if they do, surely they would end up in the concourse with LCFC fans? I know we'll have that all worked out and that wont happen just wondering how they would do it.
North-LondonFox Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 Great to see a good crowd - I really think we have half a chance! x
MeatyLCFC Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 Line of stewards i believe? Yea that's what I thought, but with no netting, it's only gonna take out around 100 seats i think it might be a police job and i would of thought there would be some sort of segregation then just a bar my bad im just saying tht it will be close to tht other guy's post, ill shut up from now on!

With this in mind - Have Asian Football Investments & Cronus Sports Management given any indication about buying the ground back for us, I know Milan looked at it, but I presume he was put off by the asking price
MeatyLCFC Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 Oh no mate, I was just wondering, its gonna be a right good banter in k and j blocks i no what you were trying to say mate i think we both got mixed up about our views, and tell me about it the coppers have to be on there game if there is only a bar seperating them from us
PEZZER2 Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 i no what you were trying to say mate i think we both got mixed up about our views, and tell me about it the coppers have to be on there game if there is only a bar seperating them from us Greetings Foxes. Really looking forward to the game on Sunday, especially as I havn't been Walkers yet. I've been Filbert Street a couple of times and always had a decent day out at Leicester. Trust me after follwing Man City for years 3rd round day is never straight forward with us especially with Sven and Vassell thrown into the mix. I think we will just sneak it but by far no easy game, Good luck for the rest of the season and I wish Greg Cunningham all the best in his recovery. Here is a clip I found on the bluemoon forum of ours about both teams. Enjoy LCFC/MCFC Kasabian/OasisLCFC/MCFC Kasabian/OasisPosted by Bentley's Roof on Tuesday, 4 January 2011
davieG Posted 7 January 2011 Author Posted 7 January 2011 Records are there to be broken Manchester City played Leicester City in the 1969 FA Cup final, with the Citizens winning 1-0.Man City have prevailed on the last five occasions they have been drawn against the Foxes in the FA Cup. The last meeting between the two sides in the competition came in 2003-04 when Man City won 3-1 at the Walkers Stadium after a draw at the City of Manchester Stadium. Man City have won three and lost none of their last six away games against Leicester City. Only one of the last 10 meetings in all competitions between Man City and Leicester has ended as a home win. The Foxes have won four and drawn one of their last five games at the Walkers Stadium. Opta

I like stats like that they're there to be broken like we did at Hull - clubs are always breaking their bad runs against us as well - LCFC are record breakers (good or bad ones)
davieG Posted 7 January 2011 Author Posted 7 January 2011 Manchester City are losing the race to sign Edin Dzeko in time for him to make his debut in the FA Cup third round tie at Leicester on Sunday.Working through work permit details and finalising the Bosnian striker’s expected five-year contract has delayed the move slightly. Dzeko flew in to England from Wolfsburg’s Spanish training camp on Wednesday, taking and passing his medical at a private medical facility in Watford. He then flew back to Germany rather than Marbella to sort out domestic issues. He is expected to arrive in Manchester today, and the £27m signing is set to be officially announced on Monday, unless the paper logjam moves more quickly than expected.
davieG Posted 7 January 2011 Author Posted 7 January 2011 From the Merc Sol Bamba is relishing his Leicester City debut on Sunday against Manchester City, especially as he will be up against two of his closest friends in football. After Michael Morrison's departure to Sheffield Wednesday, Bamba is likely to start in the centre of defence and the big Ivory Coast international said he was determined to put the shackles on the Premier League title chasers, particularly his fellow countryman Kolo and Yaya Toure. Bamba said Yaya was one of the first people to call him to wish him luck after he completed his £250,000 move from Hibernian. "I know two Ivorians in the Manchester City side and I spoke to Yaya Toure on Wednesday night," he said. "He congratulated me on signing for Leicester and coming to England and wished me all the best. "He is looking forward to the game on Sunday. "I am sure there will be plenty of banter after the game but not before because you don't speak to people before the game. "Hopefully, I will be the one who is very happy because we have won the game. "The Toure brothers are great players, and in the Ivory Coast everyone watches English football because there are a lot of Ivory Coast players playing in England now. "We enjoy it. It is a great league, the best in the world, and some of them play for some of the best clubs in the world." Bamba admits it is not exactly going to be the easiest of debuts trying to stop the likes of Carlos Tevez, David Silva and Mario Balotelli, but it is a challenge he is relishing. "It is a fantastic game to have as my debut," said the 25-year-old, whose French accent is tinged with a Scottish brogue after four years in the Scottish Premier League. "It is a massive for the club, for me and for everyone. "It is not an easy start but it is the best start, because I want to play football and play in this kind of game. Hopefully, the manager will pick me and I will do my best. "It is a cup game so we just have to go and do the best we can to win."
MikeyT Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 From the O.S. The Leicester City Ticket Office has reported that the FA Cup 3rd Round clash against Manchester City on Sunday is heading for a sell-out. At 1pm on Friday, only 300 hundred seats were still available, all of which were expected to be snapped up well in advance of Sundays game. The remaining tickets, all of which were single seats, are available on-line at www.lcfc.com or direct from the Main Ticket Office. A Club spokesman said "The magic of the FA Cup is well and truly alive. Apart from the several hundred seats lost to segregation, plus a hand full of seats dotted around the stadium that we still have available, everything else has gone. Credit to our supporters, they will be out in force yet again on Sunday and the atmosphere inside the Walkers Stadium is going to be incredible." City fans are reminded to arrive at the stadium in plenty of time to ensure they are inside the stadium well before kick-off. The Ticket Office is open until 5pm today (Friday), between 9am and 1pm on Saturday and from 10am on Sunday. Remaining tickets in public seating areas still available priced: Adult £15 Adult non-Season Ticket holders: £20 Over 60s £10 U8s £5
