Ilkeston_Fox Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 And a vid from L1 filmed by your's truly. Surely it's a good thing to have two players that can score a good free kick. The trick is getting them to do it a little more often....
z-layrex Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 Pointless thread. If he was any good at them he would be taking them now and again I'm sure, but Gallagher does that role just nicely for now. Wooooooooooo

kyle09uk Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 Cant wait for YUKIII to release his full potential (with us!) I think in a way hes probably holding back with what he can fully do with not wanting to make any mistakes but each game hes adapting more and more and soon time will only be of the essence when he embraces his true self! Soon as he scores that first goal that will be the beginning to even better things!
accessory Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 He's incredible at set pieces. I love the guy Oh yeah? So how come we went EIGHT MONTHS without scoring from a corner?
kyle09uk Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Oh yeah? So how come we went EIGHT MONTHS without scoring from a corner? Cause are players had slabs for boots on?
Kitchandro Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Oh yeah? So how come we went EIGHT MONTHS without scoring from a corner? Because no one in the box was an aerial threat. How come as soon as Morrison, Berner and Bamba started playing we've started scoring from setpieces. It's no coincidence those players are actually the ones with an aerial threat.
accessory Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Morrison? As I recall, Bamba's last two goals came in a game where Gally was injured and didn't play.
Kitchandro Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Morrison? As I recall, Bamba's last two goals came in a game where Gally was injured and didn't play. Yeh, Morrison. I said he's an aerial threat, not he's best defender in the world. Fact is he wins headers in the opposition boxes. What's your point about Gally being injured? My point is Gally's not had Bamba in the box all season has he. How can he create a goal from a corner if he's not playing?
Haydos Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Morrison? Morro's header lead to Berner's goal against Swansea.
StanSP Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Oh yeah? So how come we went EIGHT MONTHS without scoring from a corner? And Gallagher didn't take every corner?
MrSpaM Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Yuki was known as pretty much the japanese free kick master for years, it's looking more and more like this was down to other japanese players being gash at them though. Although i'd love him to start taking some free kicks for us, Sven see's them on the training ground every day, and it's pretty obvious he see's Gally as our main threat from them. I'd expect Yuki to start taking some at some point though, an interview with sven a while back implied he'll be taking a few after he's been here for a while.
Criggers Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Gally seems to be all about finesse. I wouldnt mind seeing Yuki have a blast from a bit longer out, the poor guy is probably petrified at the minute. I imagine his first free kick in game would be as nerve racking as a last minute pen! Gallagher isnt a bad free kick taker and his shot is pretty sweet from the 22-25 yard mark. As he has proven many times before. Didnt he do it against Derby at home this year (last year, this season ) as well? But nobody can deny that sometimes his delivery from corners is shite. The amount of times he has hit the first man from a corner is infuriating! Not saying anyone else is any better but come on, get past the first man at least! I think Waggy whipped in some quality corners last season. Good pace & power and usually troubled the keeper with "should I stay or should I go" moments. Shouldn't he have been given a goal from one as well at one point? I've got it in my head he had two that went over the line, or did one hit the post or something?
Houdini Logic Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Let them both take them - might keep them on their toes and sharpen them both up
Wymsey Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Surprised Dyer isn't taking them as his crosses can be quality on his day.

TBF it was a mixture of poor corners and poor movement in the box. Can lay all the blame on the players in the box!
