CosbehFox Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Get away with the Cov's a better place to live. Seriously you look at both town centres, it's no contest. And the racial undertone, Hahahahaha. Coventry's support is mainly down to misperformance, still doesn't hide it being poor considering catchment areas. Decent support today though vocally....miss Highfield Road myself, the position of the away fans was brill.

Corky Posted 27 February 2011 Posted 27 February 2011 I have lived in both cities, both are shit holes but Leicester is dull with a constant racist overtone that doesn't exist at the other end of the M69. I'd rather have Cov's support than a few extra plastic family happy clappers. If the clubs last 20 years history were swapped Coventry would be getting by far the larger attendances. I didn't go today, £30 is crazy for this standard, I watched the game in the pub like most fans. Really? You lot would average 23k in a relegation season, 20k in the third tier?
The West Terrace Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 good to see some decent posters on here and not just idiots making a fool on themselves. Yeah, we all badly miss Highfield Road, probably summed up by constantly singing Take me home, Highfield Road for a few minutes at a time. The Ricoh is dead, half empty and embarrassing. I'm only 19 but it will never be home to me! The walkers bowl at least has a bit of an atmosphere to it

Gutted I never went myself. Good luck for the rest of the season.
CosbehFox Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 I find the price thing quite funny really. Whereas we get charged that numerous times, it says a lot that Cov are always in a lower price bracket at grounds.....
tylesta Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 I find the price thing quite funny really. Whereas we get charged that numerous times, it says a lot that Cov are always in a lower price bracket at grounds..... moaning about the price is stupid, it's not as if they had to travel from the other side of england is it? it's around 4-5 pound on the bus, no more than 10 pound return on the train. so it would be 35 to 40 quid ticket and travel. we have sold 2000 tickets for a trip to qpr 30 quid aswell add the travel you could be talking 60-70 pound!!!!
leicesterseddon Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 Went Highfield Road once, thought it was good. The right-sized ground for the club, decent atmosphere. Moving to the Ricoh has just killed them though.

Or maybe it just means they're a more principled bunch than us?

Matt Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 Or maybe it just means they're a more principled bunch than us? Cov? Principles? Nah!
ForzaLeicester Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 60/70 quid jesus I'm taking 250 qpr and I don't expect to come back with much change, I am staying the night though....
Fox1651 Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 Or maybe it just means they're a more principled bunch than us? Or maybe they just have shite support
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 60/70 quid jesus I'm taking 250 qpr and I don't expect to come back with much change, I am staying the night though.... That's the way it's done.
ForzaLeicester Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 Just shit support, they only pull 14,000 average home games, and that was in there better half of the season...
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 Wow!! Bigger than Cov. That is something to have a 10 page thread about. Think I'll start one to say how much bigger we are than Scunthorpe or Peterborough cos that makes us massive innit!!
Asha Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 Highfield Road was my first ever away game in 2002/03 where Leicester won 2-1. Really enjoyed it, great atmosphere. Compared with the Ricoh, it's an absolute paradise. Leicester fans think that the transfer from Filbert Street to the Walkers was a comedown in terms of the noise level, the Cov fans have had it a lot worse. Whereas the Walkers can have its good days now and again for atmosphere, the Ricoh just hasn't when I've been; and if we're the biggest game of their season, that's a frightening situation for their 'singers'. Feel sorry for them, and not in a condescending 'ahhh your city's shit inbreds' kind of sorry. Those who contributed to the atmosphere at Highfield Road are now associated with the horrific support at the Ricoh - must be devastating for them as it keeps occurring, and I can't ever see the Ricoh being an atmospheric venue.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 I can't ever see the Ricoh being an atmospheric venue. It's just really badly planned out. You've got that nothing stand where the casino is to the left of the away end. Didn't they lose a ridiculous amount of money on that casino as well? I thought I heard that in the press a couple of years back. End of the day it doesn't excuse the place being empty though. 12,000 empty seats for us when we're their biggest game of the season? Poor. They were going to make it 45,000 as well.
