Kilworthfox Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 This is how I perceive Coventry City F C... They are a club which 9/10 seasons finish in the bottom half of the division they play in, I think this because it is a fact that in the most recent 30 seasons they have finished in the top half of their division on 3 occasions! Coventy have won 1 trophy in their history! Congratulations, it was the FA cup, but have never played in European competition! Fans: maybe Coventry do have an enormous fan base, maybe it is huge when compared to Leicester's, however Leicester City have far better attendances than Coventry even when Civentry were playing top flight football for 30 odd years & Leicester were up & down in those years. Coventry fans also bang in about their long run in the top flight, but coventry never achieved anything they really just made up the numbers! Over our respective histories Leicester City have accumulated more seasons in the top flight aswell! In reality the only thing Coventry fans can say to Leicester fans with no comeback is that they won the FA Cup!
FuriousFox46 Posted 26 February 2011 Author Posted 26 February 2011 Calling Cov fans inbreds? The average age of this forum must be like 8, and grow a pair and take some banter, we couldnt give a toss about you lot, you'll always be behind villa and brum to us, and as it stands, forest and derby couldnt care less about you either. Simple reason for all the nonsense talk from your lot is that you feel left out with nobody caring about you.. and thinking youre good because you have Yakubu?? He only came to you because he couldnt get in the everton team, and for money. hes not exactly set the league alight either has he? Just wait until your owners get bored and do one, then we'll see how your attendances fall. For now, enjoy the game tomorrow and then get back to your mothers and fathers, and maybe cousins if theyre up for it after youre beating tomorrow from the only city in the midlands. If we're 8, then you're 7. What do you mean you don't care about us? We're only rivals because Villa dropped you like a cold bag of sick. Derby may not care, Forest are in denial. But you, you care. You can't afford not too. I hate to be a willy puller and piss all over your argument with documented fact but I'm just so good at it, I can't resist. http://www.footballfanscensus.com/issueresults/Club_Rivalries_Uncovered_Results.pdf
Wymsey Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 In a nutshell, most of Coventry fans on here are full of hatred and disgust.
Walkers Wench Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Guys, Cov fan here...shall only make this one post then dissapear.....if you are all really not bothered about us why start a thread up? Hardly anybody is coming because no-one cares about the leicester game, our derby games that MATTER to us are Birmingham ( took 6500 there last month and could have been more) and Villa...its just unfortunate that we are no where near good enough to get to play in these derby games anymore! Please get over yourselves thinking that you are important to us YOUR NOT!! As for "cambridgefox" mate you live in Ely home to gypsies, tramps and thieves your about as posh as peterborough! Good luck at the weekend lets hope your BIG day doesnt get ruined, would hate it if you all got suicidal xx "WE" may not be important to you,,but supporting your team SHOULD be..regardless of where you travel. For supporters who only want to play prem league derbies,,you will have a long wait!!

Its true about them all being dumb
Asha Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 I personally don't buy all this 'we don't care about you' line from either side. What's the big deal with trying to distance yourselves so much from a rivalry? And guys, if this game really meant nothing to us, what's with the several days of posting about Cov, their fans, their incestuous ways etc? When was the last time that happened before a Donny, or Reading game? Coventry v Leicester is clearly a rivalry on both sides, regardless of our respective wishes that Villa and Forest would pay more attention to us. It will definitely be a sweeter moment when Yakubu bags the opener today than against Bristol City - cause it's Cov... No idea why so many people seem afraid of openly disliking them, then moan that we never have any 'decent rivalries'?
boristabasco Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Hey there Kilworthfox , quick message from a COVENTRY CITY FC fan. Just wanted to tell you that if you are going to write facts about our great club, you should at least do your research and get them right. Yes, we qualified for Europe in 1987 when we won the FA Cup and because of the ban on English clubs were not allowed to play but we have played in Europe. So please make the effort next time or don't bother. Thank you. Here's to a good game today and may the best team win.

Should be a much bigger rivalry really.

brockmyster Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Shit support for a derby absolutly shocking not even 1500 is a joke hahaha
Maybes Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Shit support for a derby absolutly shocking not even 1500 is a joke hahaha To be fair when they have to watch that shower everyweek I can hardly blame them.
MC Prussian Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 We played against Trakia Plovdiv from Bulgaria and Bayern Munich from ....erm........Germany. So...next time Prussian, please try and understand my posts. It was quite simple. End of I was referring to your post about 1987 (I even highlighted the bit I was quoting) and I was right. And you was wrong. Next time please read my posts more carefully in order to avoid further embarrassment. Besides, if you consider the Inter-City Fair Cup a European Competition, may I remind you of the following bit: While the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup is recognised as the predecessor to the UEFA Cup, it was not organised by UEFA. Consequently, UEFA do not consider clubs' records in the Fairs Cup to be part of their European record. Participants of the Inter-City Fair Cup were picked from a pool of teams whose cities were holding trade fairs. There was no sportive qualification required (unlike our two successes in the League Cup that led to Atlético and Red Star and the lost FA Cup Final of 1961 which saw Leicester play Atlético Madrid, as well). Joke club with joke fans boasting about joke competitions. Yeah, right. Only in Coventry...
stix Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 2 songs ALL game. **** all really after we equalised.....'this is a shithole' really doeant cut It when you've travelled from coventry.....
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Dreadfully both in numbers and vocally from Cov. They turned up in a taxi!
Ozwin Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Us singing 'you're not singing anymore' was a bit weird seeing as they didn't sing a thing after they scored anyway.
Fosse Boy Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 This thread is an embarassment. But for the record, I thought Coventry's support was reasonable compared to most at our gaff. Smokes were pretty cool and at least they sing their club's anthem loud and proud unlike most Leicester fans do. Just wish I was up for today like I am when we play Forest or Derby. Never get that 'derby feeling'with Coventry.
ScouseFox Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Average championship numbers, just above average vocally, not exactly a wide range of songs though.
Maybes Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Us singing 'you're not singing anymore' was a bit weird seeing as they didn't sing a thing after they scored anyway. They were fairly decent after they scored to be fair to them.

Never get that 'derby feeling'with Coventry. Covs support was reasonable! Your having a laugh. They only live down the road, and claim to hate us. Obviously don`t hate us enough to make the effort to come to Leicester. Their support today, in numbers was appalling, and them singing about Leicester being a s**thole, really is a bit rich, with them coming from coventry. If ever a song summed up a city, then that song does it for coventry big time, and i speak as someone that used to spend a fair bit of time in coventry!
