Coventry's travelling fans

Recommended Posts

This thread is an embarassment.

But for the record, I thought Coventry's support was reasonable compared to most at our gaff. Smokes were pretty cool and at least they sing their club's anthem loud and proud unlike most Leicester fans do.

Just wish I was up for today like I am when we play Forest or Derby. Never get that 'derby feeling'with Coventry.

But that 'anthem' is ALL they ****ing sing man. Was pretty loud sometimes but **** me...

Boring.....

Plus i dont think we are gonna get the same level of vocals at the walkers as we get away, not for a long while.

Covs support was reasonable! Your having a laugh.

They only live down the road, and claim to hate us.

Obviously don`t hate us enough to make the effort to come to Leicester.

Their support today, in numbers was appalling, and them singing about Leicester being a s**thole, really is a bit rich, with them coming from coventry.

If ever a song summed up a city, then that song does it for coventry big time, and i speak as someone that used to spend a fair bit of time in coventry!

just because maybe some say it it dont mean they all do..

leicester claim to not care about cov but they get talked about enough... does that mean we do care about them ??

Chill Winston. Not saying they're Boca, Lech Poznan or Rapid Vienna - just that I thought they weren't too bad compared to most who visit our place. Man City are the only ones who've really stood out fgor me as a good away set this season. Even Leeds weren't on their game like they usually are.

WEE-UL WEE-UL

Valid. Maybe we should concentrate on having a better (or at least less embarrassing) home support before being too ready to criticise our visitors...

Of course not, depends what part of the county you live, in the main, as to how much you hate cov.

Whether our fans hate cov or not though, it doesn`t stop us travelling there in big numbers.

The whole point is, covs support today, just shows what piss poor support they have in general, which is reflected in their home attendances too.

I certainly wouldn`t have said their support today was reasonable, i thought it was woefull!

Yeah, well your talking about how much they sing, rather than how many in numbers, which is a whole different thing.

As far as the home support is concerned, well the same can be said for most clubs these days, especially the ones with new stadiums.

The problem at the city, is that the kop, is full of people, who just want to watch the game, and get involved in a bit of happy clapping, now and again.

It certainly aint the kop i stood in, back in filbo days, but unless they bring in unreserved seating, (which they wont), so that all the singers can get together, it aint gonna get no better.

Personally i thought the cov fans were pretty quiet, but to be fair, the noise really don`t carry well at the walkers, so maybe they were better than i thought vocally.

On a side note, it`s good to see the fosse boys, still giving it some, despite the hassles you`ve had, with one thing and another.

Good to see the "when your smiling" flag again too.

i think your fans are being unreasonable and need to get real.. we as a club dont have the fans you do, even if we got to the premier league our attendances would probably settle at about 22-24k apart from the big games. Years of underachievement and our seasons being over by christmas hasn't helped. I personally thought we were pretty good today, and i also thought your fans on the side of us ( alongside the pitch) were decent. Also, i thought you were one of the better teams we've come across this year, you passed the ball very well, very organised and the yak is a handful, but the one player i thought was brilliant was bamba, id never seen him before but he looked quality, is he like that every week? and good luck for the rest of the season

Bamba is usually better than what you saw today I think.

but you was originally implying there numbers should have been more because they hate us..

there support is just shit in general i agree so dont see why we would expect more of them today..

with regards to them signing leicesters a shit hole.. does it really matter?? its banter.. least they sang it.. better than being totally quiet imo..

Welcome.

Bamba is a monster. Wins everything in the air and is very good on the deck. Chips in with the odd goal too.....came close again today.

Thought your support in terms of numbers was poor, but vocally fairly decent....albeit the inbred songs about us lot do get rather boring when they are being sung every couple of minutes.

Well, they`re numbers should have been more if they hate us, and if they really see us as their biggest rivals, at the moment.!

Can you honestly imagine us, only taking that many to forest, for an away game?

As for the song, does it really matter, it`s only banter.

Err, i had realised that, I have been going down the city for nearly 40 years, mainly spent in the old kop, i know what banter is, thank you.

I didn`t say they shouldn`t have sung it, just that living in coventry, they should certainly know what a shit hole is, as its a bigger one than Leicester.

King was a handful for him today I felt, despite this still a strong performance from him. Usually dominates less physical strikers though. Can't believe he he the post near the end :frusty:

I have lived in both cities, both are shit holes but Leicester is dull with a constant racist overtone that doesn't exist at the other end of the M69. I'd rather have Cov's support than a few extra plastic family happy clappers. If the clubs last 20 years history were swapped Coventry would be getting by far the larger attendances.

I didn't go today, £30 is crazy for this standard, I watched the game in the pub like most fans.

Go away. You're embarrasing yourself.

leicester - cov aint no big rivals..

they dont "hate" us like that so why would it attract more just because its us..

there may be a few that say it but that goes for both sides..

with regards to there city being a shit hole you really think there gona slag off there own ?? come on... im sure we have sang songs that are ironic many of times..

As said embarrasing thread. Didn't go today or at their place but what I gather I'd rather have 1500 vocal folk stood than 5,000 nobodies decked out in replicas.

Nothing rivalry, huge game next week time to move on.

Oooooh Prussian, have we been stung? I suppose that as a moderator on this site, you simply cannot let anybody get the better of you so you have scoured the web for some information to help your cause. You really are a sad strange little man.

OK.....here is your sentence.

"I was referring to your post about 1987 (I even highlighted the bit I was quoting) and I was right. And you was wrong.

Next time please read my posts more carefully in order to avoid further embarrassment."

Should read 'were wrong' not was. Thank you (waits for applause)

And.......you went on to 'remind' me about the alleged UEFA quote. How can you remind me when you have not brought it to my attention before?

And then you went on to slag me off for supposedly boasting about my clubs European record. I was not boasting at all. If I had started it, I would have been boasting. I was simply replying to an earlier post on this thread which stated we had never played in Europe. And we have. Yes, it was in 1970, but we also qualified in 1987 and did not take part which was no fault of ours.

I would have thought the moderators on here would strive to be an example to other fans. Sadly, this is not the case and you have shown yourself to be childish and petty. Of course, if you can't handle being 'owned' by a Coventry fan, you can easily just boot me off the site.

Because I thought you was a smart Coventry fan and already aware of said fact. These are no allegations, it's absolutely legit. UEFA never ratified the InterCity Fair Cup. And you got to play it because some nice men in nice suits were nice enough to let you participate. It's got nothing to do with sportive success prior to "qualification".

If you were aware of it, why claiming you were playing Europe when clearly you weren't (officially)? And why playing the dumb card ("I don't understand") now? Living in denial a bit, are we?

Childish and petty? Err... Throwing brick stones and glass houses...

Kicking you off the forum? Banning's from yesterday. Oh no, I rejoice in seeing you digging your own hole here.

Talking about being an example to other fans? Are you as smart as they get at the other end of the M69?

And the more you ramble on, the more you'll find out what we usually do with trolls like you.

(P.S.: Note the intentional use of the word "was" as a deliberate choice in terms of language style in this and the previous post)
