NorthEastFox Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 If you dont like what your team is doing, or are going through and bad spell please explain how booing them can ever help? Some of you may be able to read, and may be in this forum. If a player is doing poorly, cheer him up to give him confidence to play better. Booing him can only make it worse thats a fact, how would you feel? The guy who knows the best choices to make for team selection is SGE thats why he is sitting in the dugout and not a bod in the crowd like we are. He took the team from facing relegation to one of the best teams in the league in a matter of months (with the help of a few quid, which Sousa had available to him to). If you really really cant cheer then just keep your mouth shut. So that you dont spoil it for the rest if us. You are not a fan if you boo. You are playing for the other side. Is your life really that sad?
NorthEastFox Posted 4 March 2011 Author Posted 4 March 2011 Damn... I got my grammar wrong in the title...damn damn... Everyone will think I am a retard.
tomtom Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 The thing is people give it the " I pay my money I'm entitled to shout whatever I want" and that's a load of Bollocks, just because your entitled to an opinion doesn't mean its right,.. it shows a lack of class and intelligence to abuse your own players during a game,... keep it for down the pub with your mates
nothin2seehere Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 It's not as if we can go pitch side and offer a few words of encouragement / pat on the back. Who's to say that us cheering an under-performing player wouldn't be seen as a sarcastic cheer, and have the same effect as a boo anyway? Saying that, booing should be reserved for those times when the team is expected to put in a performance (win against a bottom placed side for example) but then loses - I paid my money, got a crap experience and I'll boo if it is warranted.

Is your life really that sad? I agree, no good can come from booing your own players. It could be right at the start of a game not even a couple of minutes in and maybe a player makes a first bad pass and it goes to the other team and all you hear are echos sighing and moaning. Pathetic.
MrSpaM Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 Any result bar a win would have resulted in the crowd booing at the Cov game, which is what i expect the original poster is refering to. Thats the first time in ages i've heard our players get boo'd after a game. This guy's lucky he wasnt around during the relegation season.
ithuriel Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 Never booed I did shout at the last match after PVA had skyed yet another cross/shot to, " learn to pass," after which he put that lovely cross right across the front of goal and Dyer went and missed it
FuriousFox46 Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Trav Le Bleu Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 It's like booing your own kid on sports day. To be fair, I think that some City fans woulds do that.
dave the caveman Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 It's like booing your own kid on sports day. Except that the players are fully grown adults doing a job for which they are being paid huge salaries. If I made basic, costly errors at work I would expect the office equivalent to a booing and what's more, I wouldn't be such a child as to react petulantly and perform worse as a result. If the players can't take being booed then they should drop down a few levels to where they can perform competently week-in, week-out, and they can take the resulting pay cut as well. How many do you think would take this offer up? None. Why? Because they're not kids and they can take being booed by fans without letting it affect their performance. /devil's advocate
Zingari Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 It's like booing your own kid on sports day. well he is pretty crap
B52 Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 Honestly, I don't think the club wants the money from thoose who are boooing their own players.....
lcfc_jme Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 I'd definitely boo my own kid on sports day. I want to raise a winner, not a loser. Provided I have a kid at some stage, that is.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 I'd go further. I'd kick my own kid in the face, just to get the message across. What's the message again?
Zingari Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 spot on Sebastian we've gone soft if footballer's start skulking around after a few boos from the crowd . i think the general concensus is that we've had enough of the namby pamby nanny state, and all that it's bred has been sporting mediocrity let's not forget, you don't train lions without cracking a few whips
Babylon Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 It's like booing your own kid on sports day. I thrash mine and starve them for a week if they fail to win... although if they come second I just trash them*. *I don't have kids.
Babylon Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 That you know about, eh Babs? I'm still a virgin so no chance* I'm not really.
