AmyLGK Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 I think he was mostly agreeing with you. Oh - I was VERY confused as he quoted me and said "I pity YOU all" in his post!
Haydos Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 I think he was mostly agreeing with you. I was indeed. Like I said, still hopeful, just not going to torment myself thinking we should have gone up if we don't. Perspective is key for me. Edit: Oooooh no, not you! Just the negative arses that seem to take pleasure in seeing others proven wrong.
cc_star Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 I don't think its a must win at all - Now we've got zero chance of an automatic spot which is obviously now not on, our only realistic chance is to nick 6th and try our luck in the lottery of the playoffs (which many people seem to believe will lead to promotion, rather than the 1 in 4 chance of promotion it. actually is) In order to get in the playoffs we need 8 wins from our remaining 11, it doesn't matter if we lose the next 3 than win the last 8 as long as we get the 8 However for confidence sake we need to turn this dip in results around, and the sooner the better.

Yeh exactly - I did actually get carried away and lose perspective there for a while! Was FAR too stressful!

I'm not thinking about promotion. Just the play-offs. Once we get there it's a whole other adventure. Look, it's a massive game. Do we have what it takes to win 8 in a row to close the season out? Probably not realistically, this is why each game is massive.
LCFC_15 Posted 7 March 2011 Author Posted 7 March 2011 RELEGATION TO PROMOTION CONTENDERS! REMEMBER OUR DISAPPOINTED START TO THE SEASON. SVEN HAS TURN MIRACLES AT LEICESTER. EVERYONE WITHIN LEICESTER CITY KNOWS: THE DESIRE IS PREMIER LEAGUE, TO ACCOMPLISH THE DESIRE LEICESTER CITY WILL FIGHT TILL THE END, WHETHER IT'S PROMOTION THIS YEAR OR NEXT YEAR: WE GOT TO BELIEVE!

PARDON?
LCFC_15 Posted 7 March 2011 Author Posted 7 March 2011 PARDON? I am just saying I know many Leicester fans want premier league football this year but we have to take into actions our disappointed start to the season. We just have to hope and believe that this year we have a chance through play-offs, if not then next year we would aim for automatic promotion.
Christoph Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 You only have to look where we were in November to see anything above a top half finish would have been a successful season.
Sylvie85 Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 I just can't believe people think we are safe from relegation!!! Will keep believing in the team until it is mathematically impossible to get into the play offs, and even then I will take some convincing!!!
LCFC_15 Posted 8 March 2011 Author Posted 8 March 2011 The day has arrived! Sven-Goran Erkisson says Norwich clash is "BIGGEST as Leicester City manager. Here's the link: http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/sport/biggest-game-city-manager/article-3302187-detail/article.html\ IF WE WIN TONIGHT, THE MOMENTUM OF THE LEICESTER CITY PLAYERS WILL CONTINUE TILL THE END OF SEASON! MUST WIN! CARRY ON THE UNBEATEN HOME RECORD UNDER SVEN TONIGHT WITH A WIN! COME ON YOU FOXES!!!
hackneyfox Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 442 again then with Gallagher on the bench. Just so long as Dyer stays on the bench.
lcfcsnow Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 442 again then with Gallagher on the bench. Just so long as Dyer stays on the bench. Hope not, 442 doesn't suit the players we have and I don't remember a good performance using it this season. Agree about Dyer, impact sub at best I'm afraid.
m00nie Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 Hope not, 442 doesn't suit the players we have and I don't remember a good performance using it this season. Agree about Dyer, impact sub at best I'm afraid. it will be the 4132 set up same as qpr..
Brown Fox Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 Hope not, 442 doesn't suit the players we have and I don't remember a good performance using it this season. Agree about Dyer, impact sub at best I'm afraid. If you can remember when Sousa was in charge our best performances came with 4-4-2 which we'd change to at 70 mins and since Sven has come in we have never played 4-4-2 so I'm not so sure about the bad performance thing.
Foxhateram Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 We have been found out, teams know that if they close us down quickly then we panic and reduce to hoofball. Then with no stamina upfront we have no one to hold the ball up and bring the midfield into play. Before people say yak, he aint the big gun everyone seems to think he is. Tonight we need to change our system. Who cares if its untidy, we need to start running at defenders rather than pussey footing around passing it in our half. We need to be more direct, get it to a midfielder and get him to run at the defence and shoot. We have tried the arsenal way (not even they can pull that off) so now lets start playing the way that this league requires, which is direct running with one intent, and that is to shoot on sight. Wellens, Abe, King, Yak, Gallagher, Dyer, Vassell, Waghorn they all need to grow some and have a go, rather than passing the buck. Waghorn is a more direct player and has proved in the last ten minutes of the last few games that he worries defenses, we need players to do that throughout the pitch. When Bamba goes on a run he can take it pass the whole team, as proved a few weeks back. That's what we need! Stuff all this pretty, lightweight shite! "Get stuck into em! fork em up!" Come on you blues! Football aint no fricking art! its a competitive sport and that's the way it should be played!!!! Secretly I love our passing game, i think its a joy to watch and i promote passing football at grass roots level as it brings players forward at a faster rate, but i truly believe that we need to start being more direct. We need players to make runs like Le Tissier, Maradona, Gazza esque players used to. Pass when required, but be direct when the opportunity arises. We need to know when to do each one of these things.
Jodranadinho Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 Biggest game for us to date, definitely deserves the 'cup final' tag many have gave this match. If we don't win this are chances look very very bleak, especially if Leeds win. Bamba and Bruma to take Holt out the game and get Wellens to show Lansbury how it's done!
topharry123 Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 6-1, Yak x 2, King x 1, Vassell x 1, Abe x1 and Wellens x 1. I have a good feeling about this one ....though I had the same good feeling against QPR & Cardiff.....
Jackirius Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 6-1, Yak x 2, King x 1, Vassell x 1, Abe x1 and Wellens x 1. I have a good feeling about this one ....though I had the same good feeling against QPR & Cardiff..... Would be THE best day of my life if this happened.
Simmo86 Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 Would be THE best day of my life if this happened. Feel for you tomorrow if we lose!
tomtom Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 The only problem with the 4-1-3-2 formation on Saturday was our lack of width, it could be hard to break norwich down with it tonight as they'll be coming here determined not to get beaten and would be happy with a point, If its how we go, then waggie in for Vassell please!
Corky Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 Interesting match-up. We're very confident and strong at home, whilst Norwich's away record is superb. Something will have to give, hopefully the latter.
