Where we were when Sven took over, any city fan wouldve took a respectable top 10 finish. I just hope we are up in the top 2 for the rest of next season! And I know this probably sounds absurd to most Leicester fans but I'd have Mattock back to run the left side, if and when he's fit!
blue army 1988 Posted 16 March 2011 Posted 16 March 2011 I would be a little dissapointed becuase I know we can do it and probably should have done it this season. But staying another year in the championship with Sven isn't bad as this will be time to get a good prem team ready for (hopefully) automatic promotion next season. As for Mattock, he would get more stick than Ricardo. I would definatly not want him back at the club. It's all about money with him rather than loyalty and loving the club who gave you a chance and helped your carrer.
millzi Posted 16 March 2011 Posted 16 March 2011 I won't be disappointed at all, all the people that think we deserve to go up need to take a look at where we were 10 games into the season. Yes I know we got really close recently but at the start of the season I was fearing relegation so to get where we are now and some of the players we have attracted in our position I am happy with. I think I would rather we stay in the Championship for another season, let Sven get all the men he needs and then they will gel next season and we go up in fashion, not a scrappy play-off push.

Backing Sven, Top and Leicester to smash the Championship next season (if we are indeed stuck here!): HELL YA! We will smash the championship next season (but can't help hoping we can do it this season..)

It would have taken an unprecedented run of form to get us promoted from where we were after 9 games. Since Sven have come in the facts show we have been in title winning form, to expect more than that is frankly just unrealistic.

For the 2nd time today I agree with Babs Although signing a manager as renowned as Sven on £1.5m a year & an unrivalled transfer budget, title winning form is probably the expectation
Corky Posted 16 March 2011 Posted 16 March 2011 If we don't go up then we don't go up, it wouldn't be a huge shock as we've never really been involved in a promotion race. And both Berner and Mee are better than Mattock.

smallpauldj Posted 16 March 2011 Posted 16 March 2011 I think we have some tough fixtures to end the season with but still believe 100% our destiny is 6th place! if we fall short ill still be happy and still have a season ticket and give the boys my support ill only be disapointed if leeds or forest go up

However, I still maintain that when we got to 6th/7th it's a shame he tinkered with an in form team and undid some of his good work.

Mattock really isn't that good, reputation built on hype, as West Brom soon found out. Sooner have an academy graduate at left back.
