SOUSA2SVEN Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Correct me if i am wrong but we tried to sign kuszczak a while ago, with many other rumours milling around, but just read on the transfer centre that he is going to pack his bags and move on from utd. So i wonder if sven might try again to cure are so called (GK crisis) Depends if this even happens but that would be a quality signing IMO. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_6860536,00.html ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Copy and paste the link for detail's Hope you enjoy the read
Leicester_Loyal Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Would be a good signing for this division, but didn't he say he'd never drop down a division.
themotivator Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 bit of a long shot. man u don't play him so he will come to leicester.. not sure. obviously we need a better keeper though.

SOUSA2SVEN Posted 12 April 2011 Author Posted 12 April 2011 you are right... i think. are you frustrated with my response? No course not just abit annoyed about the result tonight i suppose chance to gain ground lost, sorry if you thought that
shen Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Just because he's at Man Utd doesn't mean he's a good goalie. While he doesn't stand out as being terrible, he's nothing special in my view He'd demand some serious cash as well, which would limit Sven's options to strengthen elsewhere...

The First place we need to strengthen is goalkeeper. That is the main reason we are not in the top six. We have two crap goalkeepers. Sorry I mean CRAP! We must spend on at least one goalkeeper, then we can get other players in with what we have left.

And it's too early to say with Ricardo. But even if we do invest in a new goalkeeper I don't think it would be prudent to spend it on a keeper who'll command a high wage simply because of his current employer...

How much longer will it take before this love fest with Weale will stop? How many goals does he have to let in?
Christoph Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Its not the first time Weale has let in a fairly easy long shot in and I dont doubt it will be the last. We need a new keeper who is GOOD. Weale and ricardo, yeh there decent keepers but they're not magnificent or anything. If you look at most successful teams they usually always have a good goalkeeper.

Like leeds or qpr for example maybe I don't think Weale is a decent goalie. Hit and miss with weale
shen Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 How much longer will it take before this love fest with Weale will stop? How many goals does he have to let in? That wasn't a "Weale support" comment. I was just stating a fact. Besides, same time last year fans on here were praising the solid defense and the 'decent' goalie we had. People are getting their judgments clouded by his weakness against long range shots and don't remember his strengths. I'm not saying we don't require a new goalie, I'm only expressing my concern about getting an expensive keeper in who I don't think would prove much better than what we have.

What exactly are his strengths, and please don't do comparisons with Ricardo, as a goalie in his own right what is it that Weale actually excels at? He flaps, he doesn't communicate, he's poor from distance and he can't distribute. I haven't changed my mind about him. I thought he was a flapper last season. People on this board rated Henderson because he saved couple of penalties. It's beyond me how anybody can rate Weale any higher than 'a division 1 goalie'.
ozleicester Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Edit... over-reaction to sh*t result last night
Kierzz Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Every good team has a good goalie who will stop some "certain goals". Therefore they win some matches that they shouldn't. If you look at the league now, it shows how important a 3 point win rather than a loss actually is I think a decent goalie will be one of the first recruits sven will make this summer.

I'm not defending or supporting Weale, I'm merely saying that I don't think Kuszczak would be a prudent replacement for either Weale or Ricardo on the basis that I don't think he'll be worth the money. You clearly have Weale on your blacklist and you're not ready to reconsider your position. I'll just state the fact that he was a permanent fixture in a side that finished 5th and which had the 4th best defence in the league last season. Jus' sayin' Excellent save. I counter you with this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqeHS6p1cpQ&playnext=1&list=PL90A7965AFA1C8200

As far as I remember there's always been a question mark over Weale. In the play off semi's at home, when Whittingham was lining up the free kick, pretty much everyone around me were saying that Weale was a weakness in that situation.

I've had concerns about him all season but it's mainly because of his awful footwork. Now he just downright doesn't get near them. In this clip his first three steps are on the same spot and he doesn't actually move
Walshy5 Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 The goalie we should really be looking at trying to get is Westwood. Probablly the best goalie in the championship and will be on a free in the summer which would allow us to spend more in other areas.
