Reading Post Match

Ah, OK, scan my post and tell me exactly where I said I was "better" than any of you.

It was definitely cringeworthy, a massive game for us, one that if we lost it'd more or less end any sort of play-off push, a game where the team needs full backing from the fans, and the best song (in your words) we can manage all day is the left side/right side? That's absolutely beyond dismal, it's embarrassing almost.

We tried to start off proper songs - sorry, you can't seriously tell me you'd rather hear our end belting out left side/right side and stuff like "Who r ya" above proper songs like Bring on the Sunderland, You are my Leicester etc... it's embarrassing to say the least.

Oh and before I get accused of being an arrogant cvnt, I'm not arsed, rather be someone arrogant who tried to support the shit on the pitch for 90 mins rather than someone who sat down and slagged the team off from the word go.

What makes them proper songs exactly? Some people might like different chants to you.

Having a go at people for not singing is one thing, but it gets silly when everyone has to sing the songs that certian people find acceptable. (within reason of course)

Watching us yesterday reminded me of Arsenal - we had the majority of possession (it felt like it), put together lots of passes and then fannyed about we when got near their box, wasting chance after chance. Reading seemed to have only a handful of chances and put them away. Typical.

It seemed that only after going three down was there any sense of urgency on the pitch. <_<

Jimmy Kebe and Shane Long are immense.

Songs that get behind the team - songs that are traditional and good, loud and proud.

Not generic songs like Who are ya & songs like that which are not far off being as cringeworthy as mauled by the tigers.

Traditional songs are good but they don't have to be the only ones sung. Singing them 'loud and proud' is down to the fans, not the songs. Other people have different tastes to you. That doesn't necessarily make them embarassing.

Singing left side/right side or who are ya is definitely better than singing nothing at all.

They don't have to be the only ones sung.

But they more or less were.

Our end yesterday was absolutely shocking.

Partly due to the fact the majority were sat down. Either way, time to grow up and have a look around you. Not is everyone thinks the same as you. Apart from your mates who try and get the proper songs started.

I'd rather have noise than no noise at all.

We need to go back to a policy of "organic growth" a la Pearson. I'm sick of loanees who really don't care if they're here or not. I want to see young talent developed and nurtured. I want to see a good scouting system with young players identified (a la Hobbs) and brought into the side and developed for the long term. I'm sick of the billy big bollocks get any old Prem tart that can'; get a game with his current team approach.

I've been supporting City for 43 years through thick and thin. Even during the the thin times I've backed them with cash, time and loyal support. Right now I'm losing my lurve for the club. I went to see Bournemouth yesterday at Notts Co. 750 fans, very passionate, supporting a number of home grown players, all of whom came over and chatted to the fans before and after the game. No big time time Charlies, no one on £50k a week, just lots of hard endeavour and some half decent football to go with it. I'm inclined to this version of football at the moment, not Leicester and Lee Hoos's "we have a strategy for this club" approach. It breaks my heart to admit to this, but I haven't renewed my ST for next season and I'm thinking next year I'll take a break from The Walkers and go watch some lower league and non-league stuff.

I am one very sad and disgruntled Fox right now.

On a sidenote, did anyone else see and hear the two Swiss lads in Sector 28? One of them had a Swissbull Switzerland shirt with the number 10 on.

Wasn't at the game. Just watched the highlights.

What I can tell is we created chances which is a positive. Kebe looked like an academy drop out in the sunday league, made everyone look silly. Would love to see him here.

How many of our fans were there ?

From the OS

Attendance: 19,199 (1,963 away)

Not a bad following given our poor form and the fact its a shite away game. People will be saving their money for the Forest game too.

That's true mind.

Meh, I just think it's absolutely small-time as fvck when LSRS is our "best song of the day" in a game as crucial.

It is Reading away mate. Its up there with the annual visit to the Ricoh.

As I've discovered, it was my first visit yesterday to complete all 24 in this league.

And it is one of the worst, really dire conclusion to going them all.

It is a lot like the Ricoh too, thank fvck for Friday.

A lack of a summer transfer window has meant loanees are the only option this season.

I think next season we'll hopefully be seeing alot more permanant additions, with a few loanees chucked in.

Your got to remember that any young talent unless its from your own youth team costs £££££
