I say we need him because he can attract a type of player, on the other hand do want to attract that type of player, as we have seen that type of player doesn't seem to make us any better, we had average championship players last season and did better than this season.

Sven cannot build teams. He signs Premier mercenaries looking for the money but not really caring about the team.

Last year we had an organised team who would all put a shift in, its not the case now, just a bunch of individuals who Sven loves to mess about whilst tinkering the team.

Put it this way I'd rather have Pearson back (obviously wont happen) or a Warnock or Davies figure who know how to build and organise teams than a conman in Sven who picks his players, his loanees for no justification.

Without a doubt Sven is the man to take us forward.

We've lost form ... it happens. Some of it is self inclicted, some of it is tactical, some of it is being unlucky, some of it is lazyness.

We were all happy when Sven signed Yakubu, PVA, Bruma etc. He's loaned players that either had established reputations or had potential and came with good refrences. Sometimes things don't work, it's as simple as that. Maybe we are locked into playing some of these players? Maybe that's a condition of the loan. A manager of Svens reputation doesn't earn that for no reason. I'm sure he can see the mistakes and I'm hoping certain selections are out of his hands.

As I've previously mentioned, I believe the chopping / changing of keepers hasn't helped. Goalkeppers need confidence, which can only come from playing. Both of our GK are prone to errors so it's a position we need to assess.

The defence needs a overhaul and is shouting out for us to sign a leader. We need a comanding centre back desperately, this I believe has been one of our major weaknesses alongside the chopping and changing.

We require more options in midfield. We looked better when we actually played with the three centre mids for a while. This may have allowed us to carry King that bit more as he does tend to go missing. Maybe the answer would have been to play King behind a lone forward and then allow him to utilise the space between the defence and attack.

We have players that peoplemoan about but they are effective in certain circumstances, Dyer with his direct running and Howard with his awkwardness are examples of these. These players ask different tactical questions and at times, it wouldn't hurt for us to use them more. They may not technically be as good as some of the other players but sometimes you have to think outside the box.

It'll be interesting to see how things change in the summer, I anticipate a large squad overhaul with many ins and outs.

The best manager we have had in some years IMO - shame he went, but he did so there you go.

Its the qualities I'd like to see back at City- strong, motivated, good eye for a player, disciplinarian.... the polar opposite of Sven

I agree with you. Bring back some old school manager, who go mental if we loose a game. A guy who really is a "disciplinarian". I can not understand why we signed Sven, what has he done as a manager? As far as I know he never won anything. Sack him!

Bring in Paul Ince. I heard that he was a real disiplinarian at Blackburn. If someone said something he did not like, they saw the next match from the stands. Sven would never do that.

Facts Sven:

- No idea about tactics.

- No disciplin

- Loan players, not good.

- He is from Sweden!

- Dont go mental if we loose

- Some players like him, that cant be good (if they like him they dont respect him

Paul Ince:

- English

- Go mental if we loose

- Is never gonna talk to a player again if they disagree with him

- He really know the league

lol there must be a reason why Paul Ince can't keep a management job for more than a month! And you want him to replace sven?

*Edit, didn't read the Paul Ince post properly, just read the two below.

Embarrassing that some people are calling for Sven to go, I absolutely despise our fans.

We played a more defensive style of football under football, that utilised a grittier approach. We'd grind out results rather than play a team to pieces. We were difficult to break down and therefore hard to beat. Not a bad thing, not exciting to watch but effective in the Championship. We'd have been mauled in the Premier League.Surely no one can question that??

Sousa inherited that squad of gritty players and tried to make them play football keep ball football, with attacking full backs, zonal marking and slick passing. Quite simply put, he got it wrong, altough I think he'd have got it right given more time. I do not believe we'd have been relegated.

You can't change a squad over night and I think that's what people need to understand, the most succesful team have Managers that have stabilised a club and have built a team over time, coaching or brining in players that suit that style of football to macth the rest of the team.

Sven ... well, I think Sven has been chasing the dream of Premiership and has gambled on signing people that may have worked. A gamble which has backfired. You could argue that people have tried before and it's worked.

We aren't out fo the races but we've got very, very little chance now.

Pretty sure he's joking...

"Master of Irony". Sure I want to keep Sven. And I have to respect that others want to sack him.

I think we need to keep Sven, and let him build a new squad. I am sure he is not an idiot, and will get rid off the players that are not good enough during the summer. And again, excuse my english. I am Norwegian :)

You're first paragraph is right about being hard to beat, etc. Though teams like Stoke have gone up not changed too much and done ok, so we might have done the same, but who knows.

Sousa changed things too quickly, should ahve brought his methods in slowly like Coyle did at Bolton. We wouldnt have been relegated under him (especially as the bottom 3 are so poor), and we might as well have stuck with him as it still would have been Championship football next season, but thats hindsight for you.

Sven needs a summer to be judged and we need consistency, so we must stick with him and back him, and see what happens.

Too Many of our players back out if tackles, or are just simply too slow.

Bruma and PVA Were awful today. Naughton was our best defender once more.

Why all the Sven hating? We are in a much better position now than we were at the front end of the season under Sousa.

The new owners have helped sure but, the fact still remains the poor start we had has cost us immensely, but somehow Sven, the coaching staff and the players have turned it around and put us in a position where not many thought we'd be after only bagging 14pts from a possible 36 in the first 12 games.

If the league had started when Sven came, and we were able to play those 9 games under Sousa again, I doubt we would make the Po's.

We are realy poor a the moment, and teams know hot to play against us.

You DON'T think we'd get maybe.... 6 points from 9 games? Blinded by hate....

Naughton who was caught out of position on so many occasions?

Poor in the sense, City fans think we have the divine right to be in the play-offs or higher every year?

We've just thumped a good Burnley side 4-0,and drew 3-3 away at Boro.

It's imo not that were poor it's consistency thats the key, consistency and that little bit of luck that all teams get. (apart from us),

No I meant if every team also played another 9 games as well.

Huh? So we have a 9 game disadvantage? Because everyone else is talking about the first 9 games of the season that messed us up, Or are you just adding another 9 games to the season just to 'tailor' your arguement?

I can't see how you have a valid point here, don't get me wrong I have to question Sven over recent games but if it wasn't for the 9 games under Sousa at the start of the season I think we'd be up there, every team has a dodgy spell throughout the season, this is ours, the start of the season was just bad management, thats not saying we'd have won all the 9 games at the start of the season, who knows what would have happened, we'll never know but to just 'add' another 9 games on the end of the season just to 'tailor' your arguement is just silly.

Ok what I guess I'm saying is that given the form we have been on for the last weeks, if Sven had been here from the start we wouldnt have made the PO's.

There is bad form then there is bad from caused by bad managing which Sven has caused.

Then.... what would be the point of the exercise? We had an enormously crappy start and THAT'S why we're not higher right now.

I noticed this as well, the defenders were not attempting to challenge for the first ball. Just one of those little things but lots of little things add up.

We can't talk about the first 9 games all we want. One thing everyone seems to forget is that we actually beat Cardiff to get our first win this season.
