Webbo Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 BBC The Scottish Premier League will explore the creation of a British League Cup if plans for a major shake-up of the game are ratified. What do people think? I'd be quite keen myself, I don't know how they'd sort out the European place for the winner or if there wasn't a European place would the big teams be interested?
Finnegan Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 So just the League Cup + SPL? It'd be just as pointless as it is now only with a few extra large police bills thrown in every time the like of Millwall or Leeds get drawn against Celtic.

I am far too young to remember that but dont think a lot of teams were interested in that. It might be an interesting tournament, but there are a lot of things that would need sorting, like European places, etc. Also will it replace the current League cup or what? If it ever did happen I bet we get a a lot of typical shite draws rather than Celtic/Rangers!

It's stirling albion that are the pricks, granted they're completely fan owned but they've tried to sell the naming rights for the club to compare the ****ing market, which would have seen them renamed as something involving meerkats.

Fosse Boy Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 Ideally getting an away in Edinburgh or Glasgow in the early rounds every year would be absolutely class, but practically thinking this wouldn't work and there's no way the cops, English clubs and authorities would allow it anyway. Maybe some kind of exhibition with the top 10 English and top 6 Scottish sides would be more realistic? Plus, this is just the SPL trying to cover their own back when they made the daft mistake of decreasing their league to ten teams when, if anything, they should've been increasing. Sorry chaps, the English shouldn't be bailing you out for the corrupt way you administer your league.
