nickelbyfox Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 I specifically started this topic about Alan Young and not Stringer, I find young to be the most negative special comments man ive ever heard, he continually slags off anyone who doesnt play a 1970s type kick and run football or at least isnt one of his favourites. He doesnt seem to recognise the talent and skills of anyone other than Stevie howard and Chris Weale. Yet again today when Yak has scored.. its all about Howard, or its all doom and gloom. In regard to Stringer, i dont mind him in the main, (during comentary) yes hes a bit excitable and has his wank moments but he certainly better than weve had in the past. His hyping of some players above others pi$$es me off no end and i blame him for encouraging the Boo boys that chant against the team that is out there and his overhyping of his informtation also gives me the sh*ts. hmm the more i say.. the more i realise he is also a knobjockey. Agree with you exactly, what pisses me off a bit is I listen to a whole game and think I understood what happened only to come on this forum to realize he must have been watching a completely different game! Both of them are a bit too opinionated and really should offer a less subjective view on what they see, not boring commentary but not continually expressing their feelings Young was great at the beginning but is shit now!

smudger63 Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 I think Alan Young has been alright to be honest. He says it as he sees it, and says what he thinks. It`s his opinion, he`s entitled to it, and it`s his job to give his views on the radio, It doesn`t mean you have to agree with it. I`d rather have someone like him, who has an opinion, than someone who is a yes man, and just says what he thinks the club and the players want him to say. Same as Stringer, while he goes over the top at times, i think he`s ok,. Certainly better than alot of the commentators we`ve had in the past. One thing i would also applaud Stringer for, is he isn`t afraid to ask the tough questions, even if it might upset people involved within the club.

It's not their fault the morons that listen to them take everything they say as the gospel. They can be idiots but they're entertaining, I enjoy listening to them and they're a dam site better than the other local commentaries in the East Midlands. Blaming our poor form on the local radio station Mr Savage is that you? What a refreshing post..... I do feel the pair of them have become pretty negative over the past couple of months, reason being.... well I wonder? Before that, I'm sure I heard Alan Young praising the good football we were playing? Or maybe I'm hearing things. Alan Young was a give it all, 100% hardnut player... I think he genuinely wants us to do well and frankly gets fooked off when he sees players not putting the effort in. Pretty much thinks Youngy tells it how it is... or at least how he sees it However, I do feel Stringer is a little tithead who thinks he's funny when he aint
