VampLCFC Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 Sven "almost certain" 2 more players coming in. He said one will be a 20 goal striker (if not No1 target he has other options) imo the only 20+ goal strikers weve been linked with are Maynard and Yak, i hope the other player is an offensive creative midfielder(winger) Where is this from??
ozleicester Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 Cant a mod, just put the word "no" in the subtitle?

Can't think of a more offensive midfielder !
Danny83 Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 That's why he put "for the sell out Real Madrid match" and not,to sell out the Real Madrid match! Oh no, sorry guv!
Happy Fox Posted 23 July 2011 Author Posted 23 July 2011 http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/story-12995767-detail/story.html? Leicester City have more than one striker target as they bid to bolster their attack with a 20-goal-a-season frontman, says manager Sven-Goran Eriksson. City are chasing Bristol City's Nicky Maynard and have had three bids for the 24-year-old turned down so far. Nicky Maynard But City, who play their final pre-season tour match today against Valencia in Austria, have not given up. Although Eriksson would not comment on individuals, he said he does have other options if he is unsuccessful in landing his number one target. City, who have officially announced John Pantsil as their eighth summer signing, will now step up their attempts to sign a striker. "We have to have more than one target because otherwise, if you go for one target and it proves to be impossible, then you end up without, so yes, there is more than one target," he said. "Before we have players signed, I don't want to comment on names, it is not right. "I am almost certain that there will be a couple more players coming in. "We want to try to make the squad as strong as possible and we would like to have two players in every position, to have 20 outfield players who are all strong so we can change over now and again, because I think it is necessary. "We have 46 games, which is a lot. "We have a squad that is strong and we will be strong all the way to the end of the season, which you need in this league." Speculation that the arrival of another striker could see one of City's other strikers leave has led to rumours linking Steve Howard to Sheffield Wednesday. But Eriksson said he had received no approach from Wednesday, and that Howard wanted to stay at the King Power Stadium. Howard scored four goals in the recent victory against Vasalunds in Sweden, and Eriksson said he was happy with the 35-year-old, who has a year left to run on his contract. "There has not been any contact about Steve, not that we know about," said Eriksson. "There have been rumours about Steve for one year now. "Every time he says he doesn't want to leave, he wants to stay, so if there are clubs they have to contact us and contact Steve."
dorsetfox Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 im sorry but i just cant get my head round this we could be paying like 5.5 million for this guy and i bet his wages will be around 25 k a week if it was me id forget about this and put in a cheeky 4million bid for robbie keane and use the left over to top up the wages we would have been paying this fool
THEFATBASTARD Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 off topic......the fatbastard is sad to report the end of amy winehouse.....27, what a waste..........
Guest ttfn Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 We should offer £20m plus Kermogant. They've already turned down a bid of around £4m, I don't see why they'd accept one worth less than that...
TrentFox Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 off topic......the fatbastard is sad to report the end of amy winehouse.....27, what a waste.......... Puts this Maynard thread into perspective. Desperate news. On this thread, Woody Allen once said that everything in life has already been said, it's just that not everyone has had the chance to say it. Fits this thread perfectly !

And whilst were about it why don't we mention the minor dust-up in Norway?
TrentFox Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 And whilst were about it why don't we mention the minor dust-up in Norway? Or on-going tragedies in Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, Syria, world famine, ignorance, pestilence, poverty and ....... yeah you're right .. it's not my place to decide whether i feel sad about another young life tragically wasted.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 The death of AW is at worst sad. It certainly isn't desperate, which is what Norway certainly is.
TrentFox Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 Totally respect your point of view - just don't happen t share it.
TrentFox Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 The death of AW is at worst sad. It certainly isn't desperate, which is what Norway certainly is. Great point. I wonder if Mr and Mrs Winehouse feel that the loss of their daughter is 'sad at worst' ? Hey, we're in danger of having a proper debate on here !!
THEFATBASTARD Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 FIF, no one asked for your sympathy.... im just glad im a fatbastard..rather having your outlook on life.............if i fart in the next hour , you can take a slice................big love.,..

john doe Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 Or on-going tragedies in Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, Syria, world famine, ignorance, pestilence, poverty and ....... yeah you're right .. it's not my place to decide whether i feel sad about another young life tragically wasted. and 25 years of aid has helped ?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 See Nicky, do you see? You're shillshally beat-about-the-bush reluctance to put in a transfer request at Bristol has reduced this thread to veering off into profound moralisation. I hope you're proud of yourself.
lestajigs Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 a tragic waste her death may be but images like this well what can you say - than fook its not us Well that's put me off my dinner
THEFATBASTARD Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 The sad thing is, nothing puts thefatbastard off his nosebag........if the main arteries to my heart are not hardened by the time im 55 , i will be gutted...........ps. i still think i will be fitter than maynard..
