Callabinho Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 I doubt a premier league would want take the gamble to be honest, thanks to his unfortunate injuries. However there could be something in this, Fulham are desperate for strikers but he will replace kamara not Zamora...
Jimmy Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 TBH I'd rather we spent the money on Gradel or someone like him, I can't help but think a front 3 of Gallagher Nugent Gradel (type player) would be something special at this level and if Maynard wanted to come here he would of forced a move by now surely
Jimmy Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 Shane Long please Sven they want something like £8m for him
Happy Fox Posted 24 July 2011 Author Posted 24 July 2011 they want something like £8m for him No not anymore seeing as no club will pay that fee, there fans reckon a bid of 4m should be accepted
Jimmy Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 No not anymore seeing as no club will pay that fee, there fans reckon a bid of 4m should be accepted still think Nugent will score enough goals and we should focus elsewhere but that would undoubtedly be a good deal
glen parva fox Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 Shane long for me, strong old type centre forward with something extra.
Bugg Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 I swear that Reading fans thought Shane Long was a waste of space a couple of seasons ago, funny what 1 good season can do.
MikeyT Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 "Following a pre-season knee injury, his first appearance in the 2010-11 season was as a substitute in the game against Leeds United on 12 February 2011." I didn't realise he only played 3 months of last season. Have i been asleep?

He has also expressed interest in a possible return to us. Like you, I think he would be an awesome player in Sven's current system.
accessory Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 That's according to Simon Grayson. Max and his agent may have different views..
Jimmy Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 Gradel wants to stay at Leeds so did Schmeichel, but as Bates has shown he'll sell anyone for the right price
Happy Fox Posted 24 July 2011 Author Posted 24 July 2011 why wouldn't he? I don't know personally I would like him back as I think he is a better player than when he left us, but what is his valuation?
accessory Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 Six Premier clubs in race for Gradel Also a quote from Max himself which I hadn't seen before.. Leeds is a massive club. It is the best I have been at and to play at a club like this is a dream
Matt Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 Is this still going on? People do realise what the outcome of this will be don't they? We pay over the odds for Maynard and he'll score a measily 10 goals next season.

FoxyPalace.com Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 Or get injured in the first game and be out for 6 months. Or score a shed full against Bristol City, Eat my dirt!
DorsetFox9 Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 or score 28 goals 4 of them being peno's. and fire us to the dreamland....
Leicfox Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 I don't know personally I would like him back as I think he is a better player than when he left us, but what is his valuation? I think he's probably still the same player, but maybe Leeds just utilised his ability better in a system that suits him. Same goes for Blackpool with DJ.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 bean_head Adam BakerChairman Colin: Maynard situation is ongoing, determined to keep him but have to be patient. Want to conclude something before August. bean_head Adam BakerKeith: Nicky is happy and enjoying pre-season with us.
kingfox Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 Hello guys. I believe this transfer could well be close and could be resolved in the next week or so, with Millen stating that he wants to keep Maynard his words seemed that he was about to lose the battle. When we come home on Monday, the Maynard transfer could be completed before the Madrid game with £4.75 million the rumoured price we will get him for. If the deal falls through, Sven Goran Eriksson will likely line up Yakubu or Ebanks-Blake
