drc Posted 16 May 2011 Posted 16 May 2011 Anyone been to Stockholm before? Any ideas what there is to do? What kind of activities are you looking for ?
MC Prussian Posted 18 May 2011 Posted 18 May 2011 Flight and accomodation for the weekend involving Leicester booked now. Only downside is that I'm flying to Skavsta, which is a bit outside the Stockholm area. Meh.
docho66 Posted 18 May 2011 Posted 18 May 2011 YES! I might be holidaying out there at that time! PERFECT!
Madrid_Fox Posted 18 May 2011 Posted 18 May 2011 I recently had to buy a sweden shirt and flag for a friends Eurovision song contest party. Might have to dig them out again. Can you get a flight to Stokholm from East Midlands?

Can you get a flight to Stokholm from East Midlands? Nope. Got to go through one of the London airports. Cheapest flights are from Stansted. But you could also try flying from/to Manchester - they do serve Arlanda airport.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 18 May 2011 Posted 18 May 2011 just been to Stockholm whilst on a Baltic cruise during the last 13 days, its a beautiful city. Whoever goes - you will enjoy it, beautiful city, beautiful people

Fjällräven Posted 21 May 2011 Posted 21 May 2011 Turns out my employer, Norwegian TV station TV 2, will show the tournament. Dunno about the live coverage in the UK media, but anyhow this means that you probably will be able to watch all of Leicester's matches for about 20 quid. (One month's online access.)

Lillehamring Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 TV 2 Premier League: Dette er sommerens godbiter på TV 2 Premier League urgh, might try to pub it for the hammarby game then. a trip to stockholm will be cheaper than subscription, i imagine.
Leicester Rule! Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 Many people going out on the Friday morning and coming back on the Tuesday night with Ryanair from Stansted? If there is enough interest could sort out a minibus down to the airport from Leicester.

MC Prussian Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 I take it most people on here are leaving for Skavsta Airport near Nyköping? I'll be arriving there on Friday at around noon. Best or let's say cheapest option to Stockholm would be getting a return ticket (238 Krona or £23) on one of the Flygbussarna Coaches that go straight to the Stockholm city centre. You'd be making a detour to get to Nyköping train station.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 Anyone thought about chartering a plane? Have to talk to the club ofc but yeah?
MC Prussian Posted 6 June 2011 Posted 6 June 2011 They still haven't replaced Mallorca on the website and still haven't replied to my E-Mail which I sent to them about two weeks ago.

E-mail the guy and he's going to have match tickets waiting for you for collection in some hotel. Cash on collection. No idea if you can pay on the gate. I've got plane tickets booked (and parking at Stansted) but the missus can't make it now so I might not go.
MC Prussian Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 I've contacted the organisation twice - first time in Mid-May, and the last mail I sent went to Thomas Ehrling (the guy who's supposedly in charge of the foreign visitors according to the Stockholm Trophy Football Tournament website). Reaction up to this point? Zero. Not very professional, this. (Unless my message has ended up in the Spam section, which I doubt - got my proper E-Mail address and a proper header, too) What's going on with those Swedes?

Hi Gary, Each ticket will cost 190 SEK and to make it easier for you, I will write the price for one tickets in pound for you, 19,45 pound and for two it will be 38,89 pound. I will put away tickets to the matches to you, and the tickets will be picked up at the hotel First Hotel Amaranten. Then there will be envelopes in your name where the tickets are in and as you solve out by way of cash on the spot. If you perhaps don’t have booked any hotels and feel that you will have some help, I can look up few hotels opportunities for you if you like! Because we have one official hotel that we can get a better price. MC Prussian Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Thomas Ehrling's reply How fast was Ehrling with that response?
gazzer Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 How fast was Ehrling with that response? less than 24 hours. Maybe he is in charge of ripping off servicing English hooligan fans and you are exempt.
MC Prussian Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 less than 24 hours. Maybe he is in charge of ripping off servicing English hooligan fans and you are exempt. The 4-star hotel they're "promoting" is also featured on the website - included in the 490 Euro matchday package - yes, that's 490 Euros per day. I bet the hotel accomodation alone is 200 to 250 Euros per night.

Yes I imagine they are attempting to exploit an 'angle' to extract a few more crowns from the rich English who can't be bothered to go to laterooms.com . You have to ask yourself whether you fit their profile. As I'm sure you don't they've clearly ignored your request whereas mine attracted a little interest therefore provoking a response. I'd call myself a champion of cynicism but I'm not sure if Daggers is still on here as next to him I live to learn.
