Stockholm Tournament in July

Would one of the lads who are in the know kindly put together a route planner with prices? E.g, flights, hotel and access to stadium. Either for a night or the whole tournament. That would help a few greatly!

Flights to Stockholm go to one of the three airports surrounding the city - Arlanda, which is 25 miles North of the city, Vasteras (80 miles to the West) or Skavsta Aiport (in Nyköping, 70 miles Southwest of Stockholm).

As somebody else has already posted, you can get plane tickets as cheap as £30 from Stanstead.

Hammarby IF's ground, the Söderstadium, is located on the Södermalm peninsula, South of the city centre.

If it is true that Uppsala's IK Sirius are going to replace RCD Mallorca, who have pulled out of the tournament, I do hope they'll play in Stockholm, as well.

Otherwise, you'll be looking at an hour-long trip to the North - Uppsala is about 50 miles away.

As for hotels, check sites online. Some of the airlines have their own, cheap offers. I'd recommend a hostel or B&B.

elaborate on basically :chant:

I've got two very crap Swedish tattoos on my right wrist. One saying Svenska and the other a horrendous blue and yellow flag. Had them done in Thailand when I was leathered. No reason why, but now I'm basically Swedish. See you there.

I'm delighted cause I live in Uppsla. Uppsala is about 40 minutes away from stockholm by train. Arlanda the main airoport is between Uppsala and Stockholm.

The stadium in Uppsala is 10 minutes away with bike from where I live so it's happy days. Hotelrooms are probably cheaper in Uppsala if you're planning to stay the night.

I can help out with any questions about Uppsala

When the games and dates are confirmed I'll do this.

Couple of things. Uppsala is Sweden's fourth biggest city, it's very much a university city. One of the best in Europe. It's apparently a very nice place.

Hammarby have a league game that weekend. So expect our fixture against them to be either side of that. Hammarby's fans are the best in Sweden, very loud. Can be very scary too.

Stockholm Tournament for City in July!

Update..Real Mallorca have pulled out but Brescia from Serie A and Hammarby are still in the tournament.

Sirius from Division 1 Norra (Swedish 3rd tier) will make up the numbers and the games will be played at Hammarby's Söderstadion in Södermalm just South of the City centre.

Flight to Sweden isn't that bad, I flew over there last year with ryanair for £30 return, only trouble is flying from stansted

The teams play two games each. The team that scores the most number of goals in those two games, will win the tournament.

If two or more teams have scored the same amount of goals then the team that has conceded the least amount of goals will win. If there is a tie in number of goals then the winner will be the team with the fewest number of awarded yellow and red cards.

The goal of this tournament is to promote many goals, attractive football and fair play.

Weird rules in my oppinion, I like it though.

this confirms my understanding that the sirius game is just a training game.

think i'll try and get over for the friday night game.

Sirius isn't a training game. It's a proper ninety minute friendly. Nothing to do with the tournament though.

We are based up near Uppsala from Saturday to Wednesday and then moving onto Stockholm I believe.

That's the one I can make it to. Plus the open coaching session with Leicester and the "coaching symposium" with Sven.

what was i thinking, describing a 90 minute friendly game during the off-season as a training match, shame on me.

I'm looking to going to this.

What area will Leicester be playing? I will be looking to stay in a hotel in that area for around 4 days?

Any info would be appreciated :)
