millzi Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Well I guess he is basically swedish then. You can't get much more Swedish than that mate.

MC Prussian Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Looking at accomodation in Stockholm right now. There's the Langholmens Vandrarhem (Langholmsmuren 20), a former prison (!) on a little island in the city centre, with beds starting at £24 per night. What's everybody else's progress?
Lillehamring Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Prussian, I'm checking cheap ways of doing Stockholm as we speak! Hostels would suffice for now, I haven't had a proper holiday since a nice little weekend break in Barcelona last February. And weasel, no idea what the deal with public drinking or if cheap beer even exists in Sweden. As I understand it, it's a taxation issue rather than cost of living as Stockholm isn't much more expensive as a European capital than London or Paris generally speaking. Yes I am doing my research. I think it's less a worry about the price of the beer than the quality, expect no more than 3.5% for the local stuff - much like having sex in a canoe.... persoonally, whilst i'm excited at this, but severely pissed that we aren't doing the göteborg one, stockholm's a bit of a trek on the bus? DavieG, how's you left hand driving

I've got flights for about £40. There seems to be plenty of options for places to stay for about £20-30 so I'll sort that out in time
Webbo Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Said on the moan in tonight that Mallorca probably won't be there now. Could be replaced by another Swedish team.
Alexikokopops Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 also, a bit weird that it finishes on a monday? Yeah, I thought that. I get in at 9am on Friday and leave at 9pm on Monday so have the last 4 of the 7 days covered. I also figured that if things go tits up and Leicester pull out for any reason I've got a long weekend in somewhere new.

DavieG, how's you left hand driving 6 hours from Oslo is hardly a picnic and I'd not fancy it if that's what you were thinking.
Leicester Rule! Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 You can buy drinks from Systemboglets that are cheaper than the £5 quotes I have read here .... We are playing on Tuesday 12 against Sirus FC, Friday 16 against Brescia and then Hammarby on Monday 19. Should be a top trip ...
MC Prussian Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Now that Mallorca have pulled out, I do hope they at least keep the dates as they are...

Leicester Rule! Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 May I ask where you got this info from please? A sports event manager in Sweden. Can't guarantee the reliability of it but thought I would pass the message on.

If that's the case then I should get Brescia and Hammarby in. Keen.
CosbehFox Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 http://www.siriusfotboll.com/web/article/svennis-och-leicester-till-studenternas-i-juli Looks like we're playing Sirius at Uppsala. Just want the schedule confirmed before I book ought. As it stands, you can catch Djurgardens at home on Saturday in Stockholm. They play at the Olympic Stadium which is from the 1912 Olympics.
Alexikokopops Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 As it stands, you can catch Djurgardens at home on Saturday in Stockholm. They play at the Olympic Stadium which is from the 1912 Olympics. Brilliant. I might try and fit that in too.
Lillehamring Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 6 hours from Oslo is hardly a picnic and I'd not fancy it if that's what you were thinking. fair enough - i'll see what the other oslo foxes are doing, maybe we can sort out a car full... but i assume you'll want to be there?
Lillehamring Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Delightful. If that's the case then I should get Brescia and Hammarby in. Keen. unless the monday game is in the evening. This is starting to get a bit tricky, the more i look at it i'm tempted to go to the brescia game on friday, a few absoluts, a bit of CHEAP shopping on saturday and a few more aboluts, and bus it home on the sunday... Haraven, norfox et al. - any thoughts?
MC Prussian Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Uppsala is a bit of a trek... About an hour by car from Stockholm, I assume.

I'm not sure I'll see what the schedule is and how they're spread out. What are you thinking of doing , staying in Stockholm and going to all the games?
ajthefox Posted 10 May 2011 Posted 10 May 2011 Would love to go to this and get a few days in Stockholm, but I've had to go to 4 away games on my own this season so I'm not sure what the chances of a trip to Stockholm are!
