Itsthejoeker Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 I'd pay £50 I think and travel as far as Manchester/London. To be fair there isn't many other places they'd play in this country so you have it covered
Rocket-Ron Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 I'd pay £50 I think and travel as far as Manchester/London. Would you be prepared to travel to Wisconsin? http://eauxclaires.com
hairy Posted 12 February 2015 Author Posted 12 February 2015 Would you be prepared to travel to Wisconsin? http://eauxclaires.com Ohhhhhhhh lets hope this is the sign of new things to come
Itsthejoeker Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 When I said any price, I didn't mean spunk a grand on flights
Unabomber Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Would you be prepared to travel to Wisconsin? http://eauxclaires.com No that't too far I set my limits now better stick to them. Like hairy said though could be a great sign of future opportunities.
Guest Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 I don't get all the fuss over Bon Iver. Don't get me wrong, Skinny Love is a great tune, but all the rest just sounds like wolf howling to me. To each their own i suppose. To his credit he has done a lot of nice things for his hometown eau claire, including the above mentioned music festival this summer. He's built a recording studio out here and is working on remodeling a few run down hotels with a local businessman. As a side point, if you're ever going through Eau Claire and hope to accidentally bump into him, best bet is down at The Joynt.

Guest Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 Wow no way man, listen to re stacks and come back to me. hmm, i just checked it out this morning. Only listened once so i may need to go over it a few times to give it a proper assessment. Never really seemed to hit the bulls-eye. I think Justin Vernon is a very talented musician, what with his jazz background and all, but I've never heard any great displays of technical ability or progressiveness. So I'm guessing the appeal (of this song, and bon iver in general) must be the folky authenticity, low-fi atmosphere music? His vocals are unique. Like Jake Bugg I suppose you either love it or loathe it. His lyrics...I guess some people relate to it. But they didn't strike me as having either any great melodic construction, or painting a vivid picture like Dylan, Morrissey, or Cash. Maybe its appeal is too subtle in a genre too far out of reach for me to fully appreciate. But if you like that sort of stuff, you can hear it every night of the week in coffee shops from the midwest all the way to portland. Beard not required, bring your own fuzzy hat.
IOWFOX Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 But the self titled album is no where near to being folky or low-fi. Most people would struggle to connect the 2 as being from the same band.
Itsthejoeker Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 No dates yet, but Justin Vernon announced they're bak together this summer.
IOWFOX Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 So far they are only performing at eaux claires festival organised and curated by Justin. Fingers crossed fore more!
Itsthejoeker Posted 18 November 2015 Posted 18 November 2015 http://diymag.com/2015/07/19/bon-iver-performs-two-new-songs-at-eaux-claires-festival New Bon Iver! Tour schedule for Asia too
Rocket-Ron Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 New http://www.resident-music.com/productdetails&product_id=43806
separator Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Can't make my mind up yet about their new songs yet. Sounds like Justin has been hanging around with Kanye West too much, which is never a good thing. Anyway, he's released a track from his new record today...
separator Posted 12 September 2016 Posted 12 September 2016 Bon Iver on tour next year, playing Edinburgh, Blackpool & London http://www.nme.com/news/bon-iver/96361

I just think they are lame, really tried hard to find a way to find some genius in it - but there really isn't.
Carl the Llama Posted 13 September 2016 Posted 13 September 2016 It's like trying to enjoy listening to Broken Social Scene or the Postal Service. It would be nice to be able to just because everyone else insists they're great but really it's hard not to see it as just more pretentious crap from the 'indie' crowd.
IOWFOX Posted 1 October 2016 Posted 1 October 2016 This is so good, usually takes me a little while to adjust to a bands new sounds but not this. Was not a fan of the self titled album for awhile before it becoming one of my favourites. 33 god to 8 circle is absolutely incredible.
Guest Lako42 Posted 1 October 2016 Posted 1 October 2016 I love Bon Iver but this latest album is not good. Really quite difficult to listen to actually.
Guest Lako42 Posted 1 October 2016 Posted 1 October 2016 Oh and give RX Y a listen if you like Bon Iver, quite a good sound.
