The name Survival Sunday makes this whole thing a whole lot cooler.

Hope Blackburn go down, cant stand that Steve Kean chap.

The owners would deserve it after the way they've acted this season. I can't stand Allardyce, but they wouldn't be in this situation were he still in charge.

Anybody know, IF Brum go down, what happens with Europe next season? They still eligable for it?

Didn't the same happen to Ipswich years ago now? I'm pretty sure they were relegated but played in Europe whilst in Divison 2/Championship.

Sounds like summat Vince McMahon would dream up.

So who does everyone want to go down? Who do you think will go down? Will you be watching? Could you not care less?

I hope it's Birmingham and Blackpool. Birmingham partly because of that Gardner comment in the link - being in the Premiership is more important than making history and winning a trophy - I hate that attitude. Partly because their players are a bunch of inbred pikeys.

Blackpool partly because I can't stand Holloway. And not because he got us relegated, but because he thinks everyone cares what he thinks, and that he whinges about stuff that doesn't concern him. He also has this 'everyone's out to get us' attitude that's so repellent. Their fans are the same actually, the used to have a weird inferirority complex and now they think they're a massive Club. Oh, and DJ's a nob.

Almost perfectly sums up my stance - except I can't stand Holloway because he got us relegated. It's not even rational. It's just he made so many of those stupid ****ing comments when we were in trouble that whenever I hear one now it sends a shiver down my spine.

I don't understand everybody hating Wigan. They're a perfect example of how to run a football club. Dave Whelan's a legend. Fair enough, they've not got any fans because it's a rugby town, and there's clubs that'd be better suited to top flight football. But it's not Wigan's fault that those clubs aren't there - it's their own. People who hate Wigan being in the Premiership because they haven't got any fans might as well pick the biggest 30 clubs in this country, split from the Football League, and just have them playing each other. The brilliant thing about football is, theoretically, Barnet could be playing in Europe in 4 years time.

Right that's it, they're talking about how good DJ's been on Sunday Supplement now.

To quote Graham Taylor, he's got to go!

Question:

Bunch of clubs at the bottom all with similar points and goal difference.

What happens if 4 clubs which is possible all end up with same points and goal difference eg. 40 points and a gd of -21?

I think it comes down to yellow and red cards... is that right?

Anybody categorically know how the cards are tallied up?

Just wondering........

First thing after goal difference is goals scored, which Blackpool have the upper hand on, I think.

But yes, if even that's the same, I have no idea. Mental if it goals down to that though!

I thought it was head-to-head record next. If it's red and yellow cards that sounds a bit unfair. I think they should organise a play-off or a one-off penalty shoot-out instead (yes I love entertainment at other people's expense) :D

I think its goals scored and then if thats equal goals scored between the two teams.

United playing a strong side against Blackpool, Van Der Sar, Vidic, Scholes, Berbatov, Nani all start.

Hmmmm tbh i'll be happy whoever comes down.

Preferably Blackpool, and then any of the others.

Wigan/Blackburn - Meh, just don't find either very exciting.

Wolves/Birmingham - I know Wolves fans and they're both local(ish) teams.

1535: Oh - and if, like me, you are a curious soul and have been pondering the eventualities if two teams are tied for 17th and 18th places, are level on points and have exactly the same goal difference and goals scored, what exactly would happen? We would enter uncharted territory - there would be a relegation play-off. Here is the official line from the Premier League: "If, at the end of the season, either the League champions or the clubs to be relegated or the question of qualification for other competitions cannot be determined because two or more clubs are equal on points, goal difference and goals scored, the clubs concerned shall play off one or more deciding league matches on neutral grounds, the format, timing and venue of which shall be determined by the board." Tasty.

Ji Sung Park for United, 1-0.

Nothing changes though, still Wigan and Blackpool going down, for now.

That was a foul by Adam, lucky to get away with it, should have been a penalty and probably 2-0.

My initial thought was Park was looking for it, but on seeing the replay i agree, should have been a peno.

Yeah Park got there just in front of Adam and he tripped him. Surprising because Mike Dean's got a reputation to give anything in the box.

Maybe he secretly wants Blackpool to stay up.
