They're all open to opinion. Given would again be a short term fix so Westwood or Schmeichel is still a sensible option. PVA over Konchesky is also fair game. Howard over Heskey granted, is very ridiculous

Don't see why Given would be a short term fix, just look at Brad Friedel. 40 years old and lower table prem clubs are clambering over each other to sign him. Even if we got 2/3 seasons out of Given it would be well worth it! He's class, surely no one would turn him down. Very very unlikely we'd sign him anyway in my opinion.

Same with Konchesky, we'd easily get 3/4 season out of him. He's a very solid left back and I feel just the sort of experienced head we need at the back. But again, would have thought a lower league prem team would be after him.

Wouldn't be delighted with Heskey but he'd certainly be a good addition to the squad.

according to a discussion that I listened to on 5 live the other evening about the mad finances of football Given was stated to be on a contract paying £55k a week. I cant see us paying that nor should we

I think our best chance of getting Given was in the January transfer window when he said he'd be willing to drop down a division. However, Man City wanted to keep hold of him. He'll probably join a Prem team or Celtic as they're after him... can see a big clear out at Man City this summer!

I'm also not stating I wouldn't take Westwood, I definitely would. But if it came down to him or Given. I'd take Given anyway. As we've said though, rather unlikely.

I really hate speculation and the amount of crap we have to read though before something factual is printed.
