Our own song

Marching On Together, You'll Never Walk Alone, I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles are really soulful and passionate when sung by Leeds, Liverpool and West Ham. When you're smiling just isn't like that somehow, it's hard to describe why. It just isn't anthem material imo.

Sadly, I actually fully agree with this.

It's not a bad song, but it's not anthem material, unfortunately.

The sad thing with our support is the unadventurousness (is that even a word? lol), so few ever want to try anything new, anything that's a bit longer, and in-fact the only ones that do get laughed at because they're in a small group in SK1 and "act gay".

Really don't know where our support is heading, thought in terms of standing/noise last year it was better than when we came 5th under Pearson, but still a very long way to go.

The pop song of YNWA didn't sound like an anthem. These songs have stuck by traditionally, we're not going to suddenly 'come up' with an anthem.

I thought Eadie Like A Sunday morning was our song?

lol

Exactly. YNWA really wasn't that great a song, and a song about blowing bubbles should, in all actuality, be laughed at. However, it's getting a good few thousand singing it that makes it sound good, not really the actual song. Maybe if acooling08 learnt the words and helped create that atmosphere it might help.

i think one of the problems is with when your smiling befor the game when its played its too long it goes on abit but if we all sing the chorus

How can the actual song being played be "too long"?

After Cardiff I honestly thought this was gonna take off

Pretty sure it was Cardiff away anyway when this randomly started up

Please no, it was only sung because it came over the tannoy, fair enough if it had been started up out of the blue due to the situation we were in during that game but no, from there bloody tannoy.

i think "under the moon of love" by showaddywaddy should be our song ,

i may have mentioned this before

(in ref to a post asking why not "when you're smilling")

It is nothing compared to them examples.

Only select 30% know the words. As opposed to 100% of Liverpool fans with 'You'll never walk alone'

And (i might get slated by some people for saying this but...) when i hear groups of people singing it at the games it does sound a bit crap..

Calm down dear!

I wasn't suggesting that it should be

The complexity of your rules about what we should/shouldn't sing is incredible!

I remember this.... "Your talking bullshit... we don't understand"... :scarf:

**** off and support them then.

It's a great chant and would sound passionate with 1000s of us singing it as opposed to a few hundred.

It is and always will be our anthem.

**** you. See I can swear too.

WYS has, and always we be, cringeworthy and I will never sing it.

It's actually quite simple. Relevant to Leicester, original, not stolen, not intended to antagonize away fans.

You are both massively wrong. When done properly with the hand shaking at the end before breaking out into a rendition of We're Leicester can be awesome. I guess that you prefer mindlessly chanting LCFC to a Burning Ring of Fire. Now that shit is cringe worthy.

When sung slowly, it is a million times better than it being a race.

Personally, I'm a big fan of WYS, but I kinda see the issue with its lack of athem-ness (grammar as good as always)

The problem is that I see the Post Horn Gallop as our anthem... but that has no bloody words, which doesn't help.

In my opinion the best anthem in football is Celtic's "Fields of Athenry". We'll have to go a long way if we're going to match that.

LOVE this song.
