John Matrix Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Sorry!!!!! It had just come up on Twitter. I'll go take a long hard look at myself now. as you should
topharry123 Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Fourth_Official Fourth Official Crystal Palace are close to extending Tunchev's original one month loan deal from Leicester #LCFC #CPFC He'd be a fool to do this. We need a defender playing that well about now!
Kent Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 I wonder if the people pining for Tunchev are the same that moaned about inconsistent back 4 selections last year.
thybluefox Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 I don't see the problem with them extending Tunchs loan as long as we have the option to recall.
Libertine Dream Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 He'd be a fool to do this. We need a defender playing that well about now! He did look awful on the FLS, not one thing he did well with. I know its not the best thing to judge him on but it is an indicator!
shen Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 He'd be a fool to do this. We need a defender playing that well about now! Didn't seem that impressive to me against Blackpool. Admittedly, I only saw the extended highlights on the FL show, but he was given a right runaround in that first half.
Libertine Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Well going on Palace fans' reactions he's done well. Maybe not the standard we're after currently but still.
sphericalfox Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 He'd be a fool to do this. We need a defender playing that well about now! Anybody see Blackpool's goal this weekend. If not have a re-look. See who is to blame. Though I didn't see the rest of the game, I'm sure he played excellently and made plenty of interceptions...kinda like SSL. But mistakes are easier to point out rather than the rest of performance aspects, positioning, passing, tracking your man etc.
spirefox Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Tunchev looked well off the pace against Blackpool on TFLS on Sat night.(almost as bad as McCarthy)I know it was only a few minutes highlights but was caught out more than once.
bettso Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 I wonder if the people pining for Tunchev are the same that moaned about inconsistent back 4 selections last year. They also wont have watched the Football League Show on Saturday where Tunch looked...........how can I put it? What word am I looking for? Shit. That's it. He looked shit. Against gash like Cov and Burnley he looks decent but up against a side with a smudge of attacking threat, he fell apart. I'm sorry but the only time i've seen him in the championship for City was against Preston the season we made the play offs and they tore him to shreds.

To be honest i'm going on the rave reviews i've heard from the forums, haven't seen him play this year. But when we're shipping as many as we are so far it'd be nice to have a decent backup in case the 2 we have don't get their act together.

If he did come back he'd be no more useful than what we have. It's inevitable that we will lose one of our CB to suspensions or injury at some stage. There may be a recall clause for Tunchev, as we are likely paying his wages for his loan, and Palace will be grateful to have him for any period. But it's always the same with sections of LCFC fans who pine for Fryatt, Hume, Gradel etc, and spend their time crying over how great they are doing elsewhere, and moan over the 'dross' left behind or brought in.
Itsthejoeker Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Are people seriously judging Tunch on the 5 or 6 minutes of palace highlights?!
Jaspa Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 From Saturdays highlights he didn't look up to standard at all. Two years out remember, I'm happy he's getting regular gametime and will continue to. I'm sure if Sven does feel this leaves a gap, we'l get a loan player in to fill it.

Ordinarily that makes a lot of sense, but I don't understand giving Tunchev a new contract if he was just going to fill our gaps with loan players. Maybe he does just want to give him some game time before bringing him back and making him a part of the squad?

Debateable to say the least. Mills has looked dodgy so far, his only half-decent performance was against Coventry. I have never rated St Ledger and he was extremely slow at getting the ball out his feet against Bristol, leading to their winning goal. Despite what some people say he was gash all round that night. Tunchev may have looked bad on the highlights (I stress highlights) but Palace fans have labelled him 'faultless' in his other games, he also looked good against Ipswich in the last game of last season, and looked immense in League One. I'm not saying he's definitely a class above what we've got but he should definitely be in the squad, firstly for the reason we are short on numbers, and personally I've seen nothing to suggest he couldn't displace Mills or St Ledger. I'd definitely like to see him back this season.
DanTheFox07 Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 guy`s seriously how many games has tunch played? give the guy an opportunity to rediscover his form! doesn`t happen overnite and besides not like he hasn`t had his share of injuries! He will get better im sure!
m00nie Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Are people seriously judging Tunch on the 5 or 6 minutes of palace highlights?! i imagine sven would have had someone look at him to assess his situation so seems they dont see him as ready/suitable if hes to be loaned out again

One Arm Babba Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Palace wouldnt want to keep him for a further month if they havent seen good things in training. Dougie Freedman is no fool.
SMX11 Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 He is better than Bamba and Mills. Terrible decision imo, he is a calm head which we certainly need.
Bettsy82 Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 He is better than Bamba and Mills. Terrible decision imo, he is a calm head which we certainly need. Better than bamba are you serious you need your head testing bamba is the best centre half in the league.
gazfox9 Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Better than bamba are you serious you need your head testing bamba is the best centre half in the league. errr, no he's not.
Kitchandro Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 No he wasn't. God forbid someone have a different opinion. He was, his passing was terrible and he couldn't get it out of his feet as I said, was either way too casual or very nervous but he was poor on the ball. Not like we were under loads of pressure so he didn't have much to do, yet he cost us a goal and got skinned for the penalty if I remember correctly.
