I'm with Babylon, just because Wolves claim they only offered less than £3m for Mills and he cost us over £5m it does not mean the sum we paid is attributable to some bizare idea that we were conned by Reading on the basis that they kept telling us that Wolves were in fact matching our every bid, so we kept bidding more. We agreed a fee that suited both parties. If you are somehow suggesting we could have got him for £3m you probably need therapy. Wolves were trying it on, and got out early. You will be telling us next that some other unknown club are making us keep increasing our bid for Maynard, because we have got to outbid some imaginary competitor and that Bristol City are also conning us in the same way Reading did.

Bear in mind how desperate we were to get Mills at the time, Sven's no.1 target of course. For you to dismiss a newspaper article, in a twitter thread of all places, when you have no evidence to suggest otherwise is a but weird. It may or may not be true but for a Brum based paper to make up a story about LCFC and Reading seems a bit strange, no? I'm also fairly confident i've read similar stuff on Wolves forums.

I'm not trying to protect the club, i'm trying to protect others from taking what you said as absolute fact, which is the way you presented it. I'm dismissing it because the same wolves fans whose comments you are using as evidence, also said that the paper was the biggest pile of shit going.
