MPH Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 John Pantsil is hardly a coup. Its arguable that he is premier league quality. I'd rather Peltier was first choice and we had a young lad as back up. Pantsil would surely be expecting to be a regular. For me, any player we sign who was offered a contract by a prem team is sort of a coup.... but i know what you mean...

GLC Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 Don't think it's a worthwhile signing unless it's just purely cover, else we've wasted money on Peltier who I think is better. Only time will tell. The only other thing I can see is that Tunch won't be offered a contract.

Nick Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 . It is a cracking signing if you consider Pantsil as a strong utility man. He can play defensive midfield in the back of a diamond and can play right back. I think Sven will want to blood in Peltier slowly as he has no experience of the division. Can't blame Sven for not wishing to put an inexperienced back four into the championship - that's what he got accused of last year, right? So it's not a massive household name but he'll be strong enough to play championship football and give us options. Good signing in my opinion.

thybluefox Posted 18 July 2011 Posted 18 July 2011 I'd be chuffed with him coming here as cover for Peltier and to give Sven a couple more defensive options, would want Lee to be first choice though. I doubt if Pantsil would though.
