FoxyPV Posted 5 June 2011 Author Posted 5 June 2011 I was wondering why this only started yesterday and then I realised it's half term in England. Great knock from Dilshan. (I'll probably scud him now)
ScouseFox Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 Sri Lanka need 343 runs from 58 overs, England obviously need 10 wickets. Could be an exciting finish
ScouseFox Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 http://audioboo.fm/boos/378548-aggers-and-vaughan-rubber No idea if anyone heard this this morning but

AjcW Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 Disappointing.... 15 overs left and only one all rounder left in the dressing room and England have walked off. Oh well.
Fox You Forest Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 They bat down to Herath who can have a swing and with Dilshan still to bat even with his injury, no chance of a result.
Corky Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 We weren't going to win and we need to repair dressing room windows.
AjcW Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 They bat down to Herath who can have a swing and with Dilshan still to bat even with his injury, no chance of a result. Definitely showed that in cardiff
Fox You Forest Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 How often do you think good sides get bowled out like that?
AjcW Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 How often do you think good sides get bowled out like that? I know its ridiculously rare.... but its something I would ride on the back of for a series if I was captain.

FoxyPV Posted 8 June 2011 Author Posted 8 June 2011 Herath's ball to get KP out. On the radio they were debating as to whether or not that should be chalked up as KP getting out again to left hand spin. He didn't have a chance with that ball.
Corky Posted 8 June 2011 Posted 8 June 2011 The chances of bowling them out for 82 again was pretty remote, the Sri Lankans would've learnt their lesson. The important thing was getting into a position where we couldn't lose, we're leading the series so it's up to the Sri Lankans to force the issue.

Agreed England were playing to not lose and winning was always going to be a bonus.
FoxyPV Posted 16 June 2011 Author Posted 16 June 2011 England win the toss and put SL in to bat. Anderson nearly gets an early wicket after Paranavitana nearly nicked a delivery. Given not out - goes to referral and decision upheld.
Corky Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Looking at the forecast for the next few days I can only see a draw.
Fox You Forest Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 39-4 now, I wouldn't rule out a result just yet despite the poor forecast.
FoxyPV Posted 16 June 2011 Author Posted 16 June 2011 Went out for a couple of hours and missed this. Fucksake! England are generally a far better team with Anderson leading the attack.
