FoxyPV Posted 19 June 2011 Author Posted 19 June 2011 Have there not been numerous contractual/ money related fallouts in the Windies of late? I'm nearly sure that's why Sammy was captain of the one day side at the WC. Morgan has fairly picked up the strike rate. Bell on 99 - bound to get a ton The Lankans have looked a bit lacklustre in their attack this morning.
I am Rod Hull Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 The Sri Lankans dont like the cold... i bet they cant wait to get home. We should win this game from here.. weather permitting.
ScouseFox Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 Almost forced to declare a bit earlier than Strauss would've liked, but this gives us a real chance of the win. Great knock from Bell and support from Morgan today. If Jimmy gets the ball moving they won't last long.
Corky Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 112-3 at the close, 81 behind. Hopefully the weather will hold out tomorrow.
FoxyPV Posted 19 June 2011 Author Posted 19 June 2011 A draw at least as I definitely can't see SL batting all day tomorrow.
FoxyPV Posted 20 June 2011 Author Posted 20 June 2011 Sangekarra on his maiden century on English soil.
Corky Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Only taken a wicket per session today, Sri Lanka building a good lead too.
FoxyPV Posted 20 July 2011 Author Posted 20 July 2011 DRS will not used for LBW decisions in the series against India. However it will be used for caught behind disputes. Graham Swann has joked that has ****ed him over for this series.
danlcfc4ever Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Anybody watching it at the moment? Seems a pretty solid start for us... nothing too impressive from the Indian bowlers! I hope the lack of DRS backfires on the Indians at some point.

Guest MattP Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Zaheer takes Cook early and only 50 runs from the first session. Great effort that considering the clouds and movement that was taking place. India's bowling attack is absolutely awful, Kumar dobbling up 80mph as as opener bowler, we really shouldnt be losing 20 wickets to this lot in any of the 4 test matches. I can see 0-0 or 1-0 after 4 matches here.
Corky Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Those first three overs were brilliant. Sod this smash it to all parts mentality, play out three maidens. Proper cricket.

With the petulant Stuart Broad inexplicably retained, our bowling attack doesn't look too hot either.

With the petulant Stuart Broad inexplicably retained, our bowling attack doesn't look too hot either. India are number 1 because of that incredible batting line up. I dont see them staying there for too long though, too much effort put into the shorter forms now and the impending retirement of Sachin, Dravid, Sehwag, Laxman etc then we will see how good tha Raina's, Mikunds, Kohli's are...They didnt look all that great in the Windies and South Africa should of beat them over the winter. No doubting the quality of either, problem is Zaheer cant bowl 70 overs a day. No sure how effective Barj is going to be over here under the clouds. Ishant and Praveen can bowl all day and we shouldnt have much to worry about. Our bowling attack is underrated on these shores, Anderson should nip it about all the place and Tremletts pace and bounce should trouble any sub continent batsman on these surfaces. Agree on Broad, would have gone with Finn all day long.
accessory Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Duncan Fletcher has got this side well trained. Sharma and Kumar are bowling a yard wide of off stump to dry up the runs, and allow Zaheer and Harbhajan to attack from the other end. This doesn't make for the most entertaining cricket, but it's proving effective right now.

His gameplan might be fcuked now though if there is any serious damage to Zaheer.
Fosse Boy Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Anyone see Pietersen today? No pissing around to get to that double hundred in the evening. Dhoni taking the gloves off and having a bowl. Typical keeper, wants to do everything but keep.
purpleronnie Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Highlight was seeing one of the 'member's who had his trousers pulled so far up they were almost up to his neck, it was quite a sight.
Fosse Boy Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Don't like Lords purely because there's too many of those types around. Vastly prefer The Oval for a day out and a bit of cricket in the Smoke.
