marko Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 Flat track ODI bullies... Spot-on. As soon as there's a bit of movement or bounce they struggle massively. No wonder they're all about t20 cricket, at least they can bat out a full innings. On a side note, I love it when the Indians get a wicket and it's not out, but would be overturned if they were using DRS. Like the Cowan glove down the leg-side to Dhoni.
marko Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 When people state that India are shit do they realise that they thrashed England a couple of months ago? That's one day stuff on flat dust bowls. Give them a real pitch with a bit of pace, bounce and movement and they're like fish out of water.

marko Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 Gives me a warm happy gloating tingling feeling deep down in my penis... Even the commentators seem to have a little snigger about it. I'd love it if Tendulkar got an absolute stinker of a decision when he's on 99. I wonder if that'd make the BCCI have a rethink.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 A lot of credit need to go to our bowlers tho, our quicks line even in South Africa and against New Zealand has improved out of sight. They bowl to there plan and keep the ball pitched up around off stump. It's no coincedence that the improvement has come with the inclusion of Craig Mc Dermott as Bowling coach. Siddles ball to get out Dravid was an absolute peach his now been bowled 4 times in 5 bats this summer so much for being "the wall" Warner wowee saw his first 50 and watched the replay of the second 50, and it was great, but not surprising he does it in ODI's and T20 so why not bat the same in tests.
Ultra Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 The 4-0 hiding England dished out to India last summer looks a little less impressive, now it seems Australia are about to do the same. This has been a tour too far for several of the Indian old guard, including Sachin.
Corky Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 The way we demolished Australia in their own backyard proves how much better we are than India. Us and South Africa are clearly the top two nations, followed by the Aussies.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Warners 180 was very very impressive and the bowlers bowled very well again.
purpleronnie Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 What is going on England I hate to say it but I think were on the way down the rankings, at home I think we still can beat anyone but I doubt we'll have too much success anywhere else. I know people keep on about the ashes but we were playing a team on its knees, I think (although it pains me to say it) we would get thrashed by the aussies ATM.

Just because we're having a dodgy session doesn't mean we're on the way down. During the summer against India we had some dodgy spells and pulled through.
marko Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 What is going on England Don't worry pal. We had a poor first innings in Brisbane last year and we all know how that series ended up

One bad day of cricket and comments like this, the aussies still have the same batting lineup our bowlers walked through easily and we still have the best batting line up in the world. They have added Pattinson and Stark, hardly something thats going to scare us just yet. Can;t believe people can come to this conculsion on a day's play where we got ripped apart by probably the best spinner in the world on the top of his game.
Corky Posted 17 January 2012 Posted 17 January 2012 We always struggle in this type of conditions, plenty of time to re-adjust.

No its how I feel, I genuinely believe if we played the aussies again we'd lose. Its not based on this day of cricket but I don't believe our squad can continuely out perform other top nations. Hope I'm wrong but I doubt england will be number one in the rankings in 1-2 years time. Guess we'll see.

I'm not sure we'll be number 1 as I still think South Africa are the best side in the world but to suggest we would lose to Australia after just beating them so comfortably is ridiculous imo. (we won three matches by an innings+ ffs) People are going overboard on Australia, they are beating a demoralised India, don't forget virtually the same group of players drew with New Zealand just 2-3 months ago.

That's fine if you think we'd beat the aussies now so be it but they look a transformed side to me even if its playing a team who struggle to win away from home.

Only Ponting, Hussey and Clarke are the same. Ponting and Hussey although they have hit a bit of form of late are on borrowed time as is Haddin.

Ponting and Hussey although they have hit a bit of form of late are on borrowed time as is Haddin. Watson will come back in for Cowan though won't he? Add Haddin and that's still 5 of the top 7. I like Warner but he won't be teeing off like last week agaisnt a decent attack that moves the ball early. This has been absolutely pathetic from our batsman this week, I nearly went to the first test here, so glad I decided not to.
Corky Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 Very rare for our batsmen to have tw bad innings in a game. We have a world-class spinner as our bowling coach and he needs to sort them out against the slow stuff.
Brainy Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 Typical purpleronnie optimism. Only decent thing to come out of this is is Ajmal's return to Worcs this summer.
