Guest MattP Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 It's not Test Cricket but this really is a genius at work, even at 42 he hasn't lost muched (apart from his weight). http://www.foxsports.com.au/cricket/domestic-cricket/video-miked-up-shane-warne-talks-fox-sports-viewers-through-dismissals-of-scorchers-gibbs-and-marsh/story-fn5k3es5-1226237027418 He's probably the best captain Australia never had.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 He's probably the best captain Australia never had. Got to agree with you there. Closley followed by Darren Berry great cricket brain lacked a little bit of ability with the bat.
leicsmac Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Lunchtime and Clarke approaching Alastair Cook territory...can he do what Cook didn't? There are actually some real parallels between this and the 3rd Test between India and England last summer...India getting bowled out for a mediocre total then the opposition making a gargantuan score with one player almost reaching a triple ton... Let's see if Aus can make it to 710...

With both him and Hussey not close to any milestones they will put the foot down and start smacking it around for the next session try and pile on the runs and then have a crack at them a little bit after the Tea break.

Well, Clarke is the captain...if he does get a bit past 300 do you reckon he'll let himself go for the big one - 400? In all seriousness...he could get there and still have a bit over 2 days to bowl India out again...
Guest MattP Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 299....he's got plenty of time to go for 400 if he wants too...
leicsmac Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 And there it is. Well done Clarke. They may as well spend the next couple of hours in total long-handle mode now.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 At work most people seem to be on leave. But today and yesterday the only time i've seen people is in the work cafe just before someones century What an Innings he isn't well liked by a lot of people here and most people don't want him as Skipper but i think this may change the perception of him.
leicsmac Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 On 329 Clarke decides to declare. Hussey having just made 150. Odd decision..surely if Aus can't bowl India out in 6 sessions then another session and a half probably isn't going to matter? He had a lot of time to go for record-breaking territory here...selfless decision but a bit daft?
Guest MattP Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 I actually cannot believe that, what a chance, he might never get that again. You only need a day to bowl India out these days.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 I think he should of batted 30 minutes in to the final session and just teed off. Who Knows he could of got 400 and Hussey 200. Really demorisles the Indians.
Corky Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Dhoni's not a great captain. Strauss is sometimes criticised for being negative but not on that scale.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Dhoni's not a great captain. Strauss is sometimes criticised for being negative but not on that scale. It's strange tho cos he is a really good ODI captain.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 Gambhir's gone on 83 May have kept his spot for the next test now. I heard (so don't quote me) outside of the subcontenent Gambhir averages low 20's. yet his overall test career is average is 46 in 81 digs. Can see Laxman and Tendulkar batting for a long time tho, that's if Sachin doesn't get the yips over 50 like he has been ever since his been on 99 centuries.

I should be a cricket analyist Never looked like going out, Clarke bowling and Sachin some how dabs at one and gets caught behing on 80. He has the yips.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 12 January 2012 Posted 12 January 2012 Hey you knowledgable cricket folks out there. Does anyone know if South Africa still have the rule where they must play a minimum of 2 couloured players for each match?
Guest MattP Posted 12 January 2012 Posted 12 January 2012 Hey you knowledgable cricket folks out there. Does anyone know if South Africa still have the rule where they must play a minimum of 2 couloured players for each match? Nah they stopped it in 2007. I think it was three actually but Hershelle Gibbs counted as one because he's a Jew. It's actually the reason Kevin Pietersen came to England to play cricket as he felt he was being excluded from his state side on this policy. Cheers for that Saffers.
Guest MattP Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 Quality entertainment from Warner this morning. India - just dreadful, wouldn't back then to win a game at any major test playing nation at the minute.

How the hell was this Indian team ranked 1 less than 6 months ago I`ll never know.....
Guest MattP Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 Just about to watch the hour long highlights. How the hell was this Indian team ranked 1 less than 6 months ago I`ll never know..... A run of fixtures where the only decent side they played away was South Africa in 3 years and only in a 2 match series.
FoxyPV Posted 13 January 2012 Author Posted 13 January 2012 India are shit. Congrats to Warner on his speedy ton.
purpleronnie Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 When people state that India are shit do they realise that they thrashed England a couple of months ago?
Corky Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 We're talking about Test cricket Ron. No-one is doubting their one-day abilties.
