marko Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Oh dear, the Aussies made Martin et al look like Glenn McGrath. Still you can only beat what's put in front of you
martyn Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Love a bit of Chris Martin: Shame fat Jesse isn't getting any runs, probably my favourite non England player.
I am Rod Hull Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Did you see Clarke's wicket? Superb judgement from Michael Great leave Love a bit of Chris Martin: Shame fat Jesse isn't getting any runs, probably my favourite non England player. ::
Alexikokopops Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 On the subject of rubbish batting I just found this David Boon
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 Good old Tuffers always good for a laugh. Chris Martin made a smashing 2no today
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 12 December 2011 Posted 12 December 2011 That's why test cricket is the best cricket....just annoyed about the result we should never of lost.
accessory Posted 12 December 2011 Posted 12 December 2011 Good old Tuffers always good for a laugh. Chris Martin made a smashing 2no today He stuck around long enough to form the partnership which ultimately decided the match. I think there'll be some changes in your batting line-up for the India series. Hughes will get the chop and Ponting may finally be eased out too.
marko Posted 12 December 2011 Posted 12 December 2011 lol I honestly can't believe the Kiwis won a test against the Aussies - first time on Aussie soil since 1985 - they also did it without Vettori.
Corky Posted 12 December 2011 Posted 12 December 2011 That's why test cricket is the best cricket Because the Aussies lost. Love it.
marko Posted 12 December 2011 Posted 12 December 2011 2 Tests and 2 5 wicket hauls for you Jimmy Patto not bad for a bloke who's previous best was 4 wickets in first class cricket. He will also be on a hat-trick when he bowls next innings. Not the greatest opposition though Agreed but you can only beat who is put in front of you and whilst where in a rebuilding phase, to have young bowlers taking wickets and getting great experience. I love this sequence of quotes, especially the last bit in bold. I agree Soccerroo, it'd be nice if someone gave the Kiwis a challenge
I am Rod Hull Posted 12 December 2011 Posted 12 December 2011 I was just about to go to bed when Hussey got out first ball and decided to hang on and watch it, quite dramatic and well worth staying up.. I can see India white washing them.. Does anyone know the odds on that ?

marko Posted 12 December 2011 Posted 12 December 2011 Cheers, Well worth a quid or two.. You reckon. For what it's worth, I reckon it'll be 2-1 either way, probably Australia if I was forced. I just think the Aussies will have learnt from this series and I remember how gutless India were on our bouncy tracks that moved around a bit. Although it should be a decent competitive series. Actually, I might have a couple of quid on a whitewash after your hunch
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 12 December 2011 Posted 12 December 2011 I love this sequence of quotes, especially the last bit in bold. I agree Soccerroo, it'd be nice if someone gave the Kiwis a challenge Was talking about the last test Was a great test match. Haddin, Hughes (is gone), Hussey and Ponting will be very nervous. I would get rid of all of them and start building towards the Ashes, getting 10-15 tests more tests in to the likes of Warner, Phone Charger, Pattinson, Cummings, Starc, Wade etc.

Yeah, I definitely think you need a new opener in place of Hughes, it looks like they've pulled him off some local park and thrown him a baggy green. I honestly thought Ponting was going to come up with a match winning ton today, it the sort of thing he's done done time and time again. What do you reckon to Haddin? Will you be looking around for a new 'keeper, it's just that every time I see him he seems to get out recklessly.

Will you be looking around for a new 'keeper, it's just that every time I see him he seems to get out recklessly. Pulling him off in a local park that is sick!!!! I'm pissed off we lost there is not much you can do about it. I just hope we improve massively and start blooding players so we are competive in the 2013 Ashes. Then i can justify spending a fourtune to go over and watch it. Phil Hughes was the fastest player to get to a 1000 runs in first class cricket and at the age of 19-20. He was all set to be a gun in South Africa he made back to back hundreds in both innings in his 2nd test. But since the Ashes in England 2009 he has barely made runs his average in first class cricket has dropped from in the 60's to about 48. He has the talent still only 23yrs old. But getting caught in slips someting like 27 times out of 30 dismials in test cricker is not acceptable as an opener and shows he has specific flaws in his batting. Haddin has been good and i'm sure he still will be good but he is 34 now and will be 36 at the Ashes. The last 2 tests his glove work has improved but we have a 24yr old Mathew Wade who is making great scores with the bat in domestic cricket and all forms of the game. Plus his glove work is exeptional, i may be biased as he plays for my domestic team but i think he has shown enough. I reckon if Tim Paine was fit they may have played him in this series.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 It's been almost 2 years but Ponting has finally made another Ton. Was desperate took a suicidal single and even with the dive he would of been a metre out with a direct hit. Was great scences Michael Clarke laughing at Ponting and Punter just smiled and raised the bat with dirt all down his whites. Great to see him getting another ton rather than being the fading champ he was becoming.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 Clarke get's his first double ton in Test cricket. Funny old game Test Cricket Australia were 2-8 and then 3-37 and in a bit of trouble there now 4-406 in overcast conditions more favourible to the Bowling team. Dhoni's captaining in this match has been sub-standarf to say the least. Defensive from the outset and not given his bowlers any plan to bowl to. Who has a deep backward square from the start of play???
Guest MattP Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 Was a fantastic knock. Great watching him and Kallis today, both looking magnificent. How bad do India look?
purpleronnie Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 Was a fantastic knock. Great watching him and Kallis today, both looking magnificent. How bad do India look? Have they gone downhill after thrashing us?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 Was a fantastic knock. Great watching him and Kallis today, both looking magnificent. How bad do India look? I think it's got alot to do with Dhoni. He is so defensive with his field settings he allows batsmen easy runs to get there confidence up and doesn't allow his bowlers to bowl to any plan. There batting hasn't been like the normal India we know but credit to our quicks who have consistently pitch the ball up forcing India to drive which is difficult when the ball is seaming and being bowled at mid 140's.
Guest MattP Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 Have they gone downhill after thrashing us? ?? Agree Michael, Dhoni really is an appalling test captain, 70 runs behind yesterday and he was bowling Kohli and Sehwag in tandem. Pathetic to be honest.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 It's not Test Cricket but this really is a genius at work, even at 42 he hasn't lost muched (apart from his weight). http://www.foxsports.com.au/cricket/domestic-cricket/video-miked-up-shane-warne-talks-fox-sports-viewers-through-dismissals-of-scorchers-gibbs-and-marsh/story-fn5k3es5-1226237027418
