Guest MattP Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Fantastic comeback today. This is why we are number one. Go away for a week and the adjustments and tactics are made to put yourself into a winning position, superb. Every time.
Corky Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Brilliant start to the day with the ball and now carrying on with the bat. Excellent position in the game.
marko Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Trott just gone. Where's Purple Ronnie gone? He was all doom and gloom when we were doing badly and now we're on top he's nowhere to be seen!
leicsmac Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Going well enough - 220 odd for 3 at the close will leave us well in control. Ideally 400-450 should be the target - we don't want to be chasing anything above 150 in the fourth innings, really, just to make certain.
purpleronnie Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Trott just gone. Where's Purple Ronnie gone? He was all doom and gloom when we were doing badly and now we're on top he's nowhere to be seen! Apologies I have a job, nice you're thinking of me though.
Corky Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Shame that Cook got out just short of his century.
marko Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Apologies I have a job, nice you're thinking of me though. You're welcome, sweet. KP just gone now. We need to get to stumps without anymore wickets falling.
leicsmac Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 We're still ahead, but lose another one before stumps and the day becomes even.
marko Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Oh dear, Morgan's gone now. This could end up being an extremely close match after it looked like we'd get a decent first innings lead.
leicsmac Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Shaky near the end there. A decent stand between Bell and Prior tomorrow is now paramount. As I said before we could really do with a lead of 100+ as batting fourth may not be pretty.
Guest MattP Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Bad last session, batting in the evening seems to be far more difficult than any other part of the day. Imperative we bat as long as possible tomorrow to give them, if we could somehow get to near tea it would be fantastic with a 120 run lead and a session to really go at them. The pitch is turning all over the shop, dont want to be chasing anymore than 220-230 in the 4th innings.
FoxyPV Posted 27 January 2012 Author Posted 27 January 2012 Hafeez gets two wickets in three balls to end the inninngs. Lead of 70.
Guest MattP Posted 27 January 2012 Posted 27 January 2012 Good lead, now get this ball 15 odd overs old and turn it over to the spinners.
marko Posted 27 January 2012 Posted 27 January 2012 Good lead, now get this ball 15 odd overs old and turn it over to the spinners. Mystic Meg is that you? Panesar's looking threatening!
Guest MattP Posted 27 January 2012 Posted 27 January 2012 Mystic Meg is that you? Panesar's looking threatening! I was a great captain when I played Very good position, shouldnt be chasing anymore than 200 here, next wicket is huge.
Guest MattP Posted 28 January 2012 Posted 28 January 2012 He's bowled wonderfully well today, if he can keep this up he can be an effective part of this side for the next couple of months.
leicsmac Posted 28 January 2012 Posted 28 January 2012 Good effort to clear up the tail there - special kudos to Monty, do love seeing him in the side because of his enthusiasm and his ability on these kind of pitches. 145 to win. Shouldn't be much trouble but one run at a time please.
ScouseFox Posted 28 January 2012 Posted 28 January 2012 Well we're making this nice and hard for ourselves.
marko Posted 28 January 2012 Posted 28 January 2012 We desperately need Trott and Prior to knock off the vast majority of these runs.
marko Posted 28 January 2012 Posted 28 January 2012 The appealing is starting to get a bit ridiculous now!
