Guest MattP Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Think he wanted to hand it over to someone younger, he had done it for long enough. Can;t believe what he just did.
Alexikokopops Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 What an idiotic run out. On the plus side I've been in conversation with Alex Tudor about it (I say conversation, I mean tweet-ersation). Took me back to his 99* against New Zealand. What a champ.
leicsmac Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Dani you mug leicsmac you mug for jinxing him - said to some of my colleagues he was going to get a ton

Brainy Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Got talking to Darren Gough a few months ago on twitter. About F1
I am Rod Hull Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Southee fireworks Off tomorrow so I`ll hang on till lunch...
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 This is a pleasure to watch a fast bower on his debut a bees dick away from a hat-trick. But a 3 wicket maiden cleaning up the top order is amazing. 4/1 off 5 overs on debut is the reason why i've been wanting him in the side.
Alexikokopops Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 5/7 Patto is killing it Kiwis 5/28 Didn't he get MOTM in the end?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Didn't he get MOTM in the end? He did, which makes in the last 2 test matches an 18 yr old quick and a 21 yr old quick MOTM. Suddenly we are looking like we might have something to look forward to in the future. Was a bit surprised that they didn't bring him on to bowl to the tail so he could have a chance to get 6-7 wickets.
Corky Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 He's no Tim Munton Tim Munton is no James Kirtley.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Tim Munton is no James Kirtley. James Kirtley is no Eddie Giddins

I think it's fair to say that's been a bit of a problem position since Warne retired!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 6 December 2011 Posted 6 December 2011 How would you say Lyon is doing as spinner? I think it's fair to say that's been a bit of a problem position since Warne retired! A problem is a bit of an understatement. A lot of that comes from the selectors not willing to back a player for a long period of time, they did it with Hauritz and then when he was showing signs of consistency they dropped him before the ashes. The good thing so far is they seem prepared to give Lyon some time and stick with him about to play his 6th test in a row. He is only 24 and plucked from virtual obscruity (had only really played 20/20 cricket ) but bowls with a lot of maturity. I like him he can turn the ball and builds pressure well his no warne but is a solid spinner. I think he will be our spinner for the next 10 years But then again how many times do you see a spinner burst on to the scene and have a great first 12-18 months and then do sweet F.A after that.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 More of the same for the Victorian Pace attack Siddle and Pattinson. 2 Wickets in the first 3 overs.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 Also any of you knowledgable cricket buffs on here know when the dates for the 2013 Ashes come out? I'm thinking it will be a cracking series and may make an apperance.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 9 December 2011 Posted 9 December 2011 You taking Mitchell Johnson`s place ? Hahaha would be surprised to see Mitchell Johnson play test cricket again so it's a possibility.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 9 December 2011 Posted 9 December 2011 2 Tests and 2 5 wicket hauls for you Jimmy Patto not bad for a bloke who's previous best was 4 wickets in first class cricket. He will also be on a hat-trick when he bowls next innings.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 9 December 2011 Posted 9 December 2011 Not the greatest opposition though Agreed but you can only beat who is put in front of you and whilst where in a rebuilding phase, to have young bowlers taking wickets and getting great experience.
Corky Posted 9 December 2011 Posted 9 December 2011 England squad to play Pakistan in the UAE: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/16103086.stm
Alexikokopops Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 How is Phil Hughes still playing for Australia? I think i'd rather have Chris Martin batting for my team than him with the way he's playing.
