If this is true, then I can understand the reluctance to put us in a reserve league. This will be HUGELY more more beneficial for the club. A lot more expensive mind, but the development and of course opportunity to scout the opposition will do wonders.

So, it's like a pan-European league played out across a full season or what?

Awesome if so!

If it's a pre-season friendly league then it's still pretty awesome, but if it is in fact over the season then it's probably the best thing to happen to the youth set-up EVER.

The best team in the World, last years Champions League winners and Netherlands' finest, nice! Will be very good for the young lads, some real testers.

The exact same? Or similar? I only ask why it's the exact same as Smith's then though it's true, then there's a clever bod in the PR dept.

That is fricking awesome. Thracians type of league!

Absolutely Dave. It shows real ambition by the owners and the manager and at will, at long last, give our club a realistic way of bringing our youngsters through the final part of their learning curve by providing some worthwhile compeition.

It will also be an attraction and motivator in itself for youngsters contemplating joining us and will also allow us to stay aware of the best young footballers coming through.

Our youngsters will also be growing up within a big-club atmosphere, with big club surroundings and getting to appreciate very early on what is expected of potentially top class players in terms of discipline and sacrifice.

We've achieved nothing yet but at least we're shaping ourselves properly and we are, finally, puttig the club's name on the map as far as is possible from the position we're in football wise.

Our transition was never going toi be quick and easy because there was simply too many failings to rectify - far more than I could really believe for a supposedly decent club - but none of this will be any more than foundations building unless we start attending to details on the pitch by signing good players, organising them effectively in every phase and playing the sort of positive, attacking, football that tries to compliment the broader picture of what we're trying to achieve which is not just about the Premiership but putting ourselves on the world stage..

The club should have these games at the Walkers if true, like FNF. Would be ridiculously epic.

Think of all the youngsters that would want to come to us to play against Ajax, Barca and Inter!

Some sort of cheap midweek fixture at walkers would be outstanding, fair play to the owners! *tips hat*

Although, we will get trounced, Belvoir Drive is not quite Le Masia! But still a great experience for all involved. I would definitely like to know more about this, why are we the only English side?!

Wouldn't surprise me if it was at somewhere like the Greene King. Obviously the Walkers would be the best but I can't see them doing it with the risk of ruining the pitch/needing to replace it too often, who knows, I could well be wrong.

They used to play reserve games at Filbert Street, that was never a problem. With the travelling expenses involved surely the club would want to recoup some money by selling tickets.

I really believe this must be down to the Sven factor, he really is doing so much for the club. If only he can gain promotion this year, sign a new contract, then the good times might return!!'
