Big name signings

I'm generally happy with the targets we've got and the prices bandied about.

Same mate, some cracking players at this level. Then we've got the experienced internationals who have played champs league football on the cheap. Then lower league hungry players as well. Also some cracking frees as well.

Great transfer window, the best for years.

Giovani Dos Santos on loan? Linked up with Sven at Mexico! You never know?

Spurs are trying to flog him to Sevilla, if the papers are to be beleived, but Spurs want too much cash. If that falls through, it could happen, would be awsome :)

It seemed so important for the owners to have so called big name signings in january.

Do you think Sven have convinced them that that's not the way to go, or have they realised it's too expensive and too har to get them ?

Of course it is much better that we don't sign an expensive "has been" big name even if it's cool to have them in your team.

Most of the players we'we been linked with this transfer window has been reasonble targets, good foorballers that probably will improve the team but no one apart from maybe Yakubu is a "Big name signing".

Its only June........ FFS !!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think it would be plural anyway if there were to be a 'big name' coming to the Walkers. I personally think Sven is doing well! Seems a bit like a FM dream team so far. :P

You have to smile reading this. :giggle:

Question:

Do you want to bring in an ousted Premiership "big name" who is on a downward spiral to possible success or would you rather bring in someone who banged in 35 goals last season with a point to prove?

I won't mention the names.

No brainer imo.

I've liked the signing's we've made so far, reminds me of QPR's approach. I'd rather we go for well established decent players who wont require a massive wage packet and millions in transfers then a player from the premiership who is either 1) constantly injured 2)hasn't played well for his team 3) overpaid

Now we have brought 3 players, 2 up and coming and also an established centre mid, it might help with future signings. Might help to lure other potential signings. Feeling good about next season already!

I'm chuffed to bits that we haven't made any so called "big name" signings. The only realistc "big names" we would attract would be players who are at the end of their game and demand ridiculously high wages.

Id love to have David Beckham on loan, great passes freekicks and just the awesomeness of owning a Leicester shirt with Beckham on the back :)

This a wind-up or wha...?!

Im fine with the players being linked, we have to build a team, the collection of big name loans didnt do it, it was worth a shot but ultimately Reading came from further back, over took us and went into the play offs. So it didnt work.

A good proven squad of players who have looked like this level is within their capabilites, with one or two maybe more exciting/unexpected ones to whet the appetite would do nicely.
