Wilder was / is a puncher, not a great boxer.

So many question about how good Wilder is.

I’ll give Fury fights 2 and 3, however that first fight should have gone to Wilder. It was never a draw.

What?

What?

I think I was saying Wilder is a big puncher lol

Of the three Fury / Wilder fights, I thought Wilder won the first fight. I still wouldn’t score it as a draw personally.

Fury deservedly won the second and third fights.

mate I have watched that fight about six times it takes serious mental gymnastics to even give wilder the draw never mind the win, I serious struggle to give him more than four rounds.

he definitely didn’t win six which even with the two knock downs is what we would have needed.

Oh, I’d never debate the actually round for round scoring. Fury at his worst, outboxes Wilder every day of the week.

More that knockdown, I always thought it was a slow count.

I get why it splits opinions though.

I’ve timed the knockdown on all six occasions as well on average I get 9.8 seconds.

I’ve seen it quite anywhere from 8 seconds to 12 seconds.

Franklin's corner moaning about an early stoppage, Ref did the right thing calling it off 100% even tried to stop the last shot. Someone really needs to have a word with Franklin's team

Early stoppage lol He was asleep before he hit the deck

so it’s probably worth remembering that Fury was knocked SPARK OUT in the first fight against Wilder and  if the same rules apply, he perhaps should have been waved off against Wilder..

Alternatively, let him try to get to his feet and see how steady on his feet he was. I think we would have  all known that he probably wouldn’t have been  able to fight on but I believe boxers deserve the opportunity to try and beat the count.

Feel bad for anyone that is buying into Dave Allen's self promotion ahead of Hrgovic because even though he is a funny/genuine bloke...it feels so forced considering he self-flagellates historically! If he can't beat Makmudohov he won't get near beating Hrgovic!

Hoping Del Boy signs off with a KO win against Wilder on Saturday, should be a good brawl at the very least

Is it on Netflix or anything do you know?

Listened to a few interviews with Jamie Moore and Allen recently and the past 2 years is the first time Allen has really taken it seriously. Previously it just something he happened to be good at and could make some money from with little effort on his part.

According to Allen himself, he was close to having to pack it in as the family couldn't support him. Then he got the Fisher fight and since then it seems to have lit a fire under him. In the same interview he also mentioned that his grandad refused to talk to him for 3 or 4 months after he retired against Clarke lol

Fair play to the guy, he's putting in good camps before fights now and taking it seriously. If he wants to give himself a pat on the back for that then fair play. I think he believes what he's saying, I don't think he's got it in him to lie or put it on, but then again maybe Eddie's in his ear and says "say this and you'll sell more tickets"

Either way, i'm looking forward it. Feels like it's been a quiet start to the year but the boxing cards are coming in thick and fast over the next few months.

It's on DAZN PPV bud.

Which is okay for me as I'm subscribed to the package, but I wouldn't begrudge someone not wanting to pay for it haha. There's a few decent scraps, but labelling it a PPV event feels a bit much to me.

The cynic in me feels like the latter is true especially with it being in Doncaster, would do him no favours if he had the same mentality he had going into that Mak fight. If he somehow gets a win over Hrgovic then he's in for a big payday against one of the elite of this era I'd say! Would be a nice way to sign off :)

Yeah, literally as I was typing it occured to me that Eddie may have been in his ear lol He shouldn't have too much trouble shifting tickets in Donnie to be fair, but I suppose every little helps.

The only part of the presser I've seen is where he's gushing over Hrgovic to be fair, I'm gonna have to watch the rest.

I just hope he stays doing work with Dazn once he hangs up the gloves, he's great entertainment value on the mic.

Yeah as a pundit he's top! No filter at all which is refreshing especially compared to his Talksport colleagues.

Not sure if anyone is watching the undercard to the wilder - Chisora fight but Bentley is leaving himself wide open to the right hook… he’s dropping his left so much..

Switching between bbc1 and 2 watching Punjabi lad Gully Powar v Edward's. Good fight, hope he gets over the line with 2 rounds left

The chisora wilder is a very entertaining fight but goodness me, Wilder has absolutely  a zero boxing brain.  he does things you are taught as an 8 year old - the fake left then right, but he’s got no idea how to use his height and reach advantage. Chisora has the heart of a lion, but all wilder needs to do is back up, jab him and spin him onto the ropes and unload.. just stay busy. He’s not doing any of that. Chisora is an absolute warrior though it has to be said..

It'll be Wilder v AJ for the $$$

Two over the hill "names" who should have fought in their prime

I really enjoyed that 8th round though. Proper slugfest albeit void of any real talent,  but it was like watching a round from a Rocky film.

slightly dodgy 10 count on Chisora who looked liked he’d been pushed out of the ring to me…

the idea of Deontay v Anthony is an intriguing one as I don’t rate either of them. AJ can’t take a mix it up a little bit but he can not take a punch. It pains me to say it but I’d go for Deontae being totally outclassed for a few rounds and then landing a bomb on him.
