DD got my respect back, two early knockdowns, but regrouped and showed excellent composure and got himself in control of the fight

Throat punch at the end as well. Got a bit uncomfortable to watch the last couple of rounds but amazing heart from Wardley

I’d happily watch that another ten times. But Fabio isn’t coming back from that quickly, and there’s far too much going on in the division for DD to hang around.

Great fight but it should have been stopped earlier. Wardley would stay in there until he gets punched to death, there's no quit in him. His corner shouldn't have let him back out for the 10th

That's exactly the type of fight you want to be watching as a boxing fan. Loads of heart. Loads of punches landed. Great stuff. Probably went on a round too long and if the ref caught that stumble off the stool then you'd think it was stopped. That being said, he had him checked out and did due dilligence; it is fighting after all.

 

Right up there with the great heavyweight fights, that one.

Wardley pretty much threw the jab then over hand right with devastating effect. But once DD clocked that  that’s pretty much all he had to avoid and then defend for, then  he could come at him with confidence. If Wardly could learn to use his left, the rematch would be much closer..

Just caught up with this and wow, amazed that went so long. You could see Wardley just slowly leaving the building.
