B52 Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 Looking at these 1st elevens I havnt seen one yet I think would come within ten points of the top 2..... So, if we get within 10 points of the top 2, we can ay Sven did it....
Guest MattP Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 So, if we get within 10 points of the top 2, we can ay Sven did it.... Absolutely. It we make the top two Sven has done it regardless.
dave the caveman Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 Looking at these 1st elevens I havnt seen one yet I think would come within ten points of the top 2..... I agree, all we've done to the outfield on paper is swapped our entire back four for the 2nd time since Sven has been in charge, replaced the seasoned international Abe with Danns, and added a striker who doesn't score many goals. I would say that no improvement has been made to the midfield or the attack, and what with defences not often complying in real life with the strength they show on paper and considering that none of the back five including the keeper have played together before, it has as much chance of being a total calamity as it does of being solid. I'll reserve proper judgement until we're a good way into the season but I think the people who think that we're going to walk this league on the basis that we've signed a few new players are in for a grim suprise.

Well the defence now is better than the one we had anytime last season. We have brought in players with a wealth of experience not just in this division but at the top level as well. I would say we are a lot more solid at the back add in Kasper as well instead of Weale it's a big improvement. In midfield we have added to what was already one of the best in the league, we created so much last season because we dominated in the centre of the park. Up top I'm going to say Sven will find a replacement for the yak or even get him in none-the-less Nugent is capable of 15-20 goals in this league but yes we are at least 1 or 2 short with regards to attacking options. Otherwise I believe we have a side that is better equipped to getting us to the prem than last season.
B52 Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 ....... considering that none of the back five including the keeper have played together before, it has as much chance of being a total calamity as it does of being solid. Schmeichal, Mills and Ball played together in Man City. Mee fitted very well if he had come too.......

iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Fvck knows now. What I'd like to see is a balanced side, not overloaded with CM's. How do you choose between King Wellens Danns Johnson Fernandes for CM. Certain Abe, Oakley & Moussa will be benched. Also I feel Gallagher should be in the side somewhere. Lloyd Dyer for balance on the left ?
Danno Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Out of the players we've signed and are linked with: Schmeichel Pantsil St Ledger Mills Konchesky Fernandes Johnson/King Danns Townsend Maynard Gallagher/Nugent
Harbs26 Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Schmeical Pantsil Mills Bamba Konchesky King Danns Wellens Gallagher Nugent M.Johnson (Just been signed on season-long-loan) Bench: Weale, Berner, Peltier, Abe, Oakley, SSL, Vassell, Waggy etc.

Legend_in_blue Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 It's not possible to decide on a starting XI until the formation can be decided on. I think we'll go 4-1-3-2 away from home and play 4-3-3 at home.
Fox92 Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Going for a nice 4-3-3 now, the selection is massive. Schmeical Peltier -- Mills -- St Ledger -- Konchesky Abe -- Wellens -- Johnson Dyer -- Nugent -- Vassell

I am Rod Hull Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Going for a nice 4-3-3 now, the selection is massive. Schmeical Peltier -- Mills -- St Ledger -- Konchesky Abe -- Wellens -- Johnson Dyer -- Nugent -- Vassell Your back 5 is what i`d have... But no King or Danns ?

ealingfox Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Looking at these 1st elevens I havnt seen one yet I think would come within ten points of the top 2..... Did you think QPR's 1st XI this time last year would come within 10 points of the top 2? I know i didn't.
GianEmmo Zola Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 ..................Schmichael................. Weale, Bamba, Abe, Gallagher, Howard, Kermogant, Waghorn, Ball, Oakley, Peltier, Schlupp, Tunchev, Moussa, Berner I like this line up, I still think a new striker will come in tho. If so drop Vassell.
Haydos Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Schmeichel Pantsil Mills St. Ledger KoncheskyKing DannsNugent Johnson GallyStriker Fernandes would be perfect in our 3 man midfield going on what I've seen of him.
cairnsy Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Schmicheal Pantsil Mills Ssl Konchesky Abe Danns Johnson Nugent Striker Gallagher
martyn Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 -----------------------------Schmeichel-------------------------------- -Peltier------------Mills------------------SSL-------------Konchesky --------------------------------Abe------------------------------------------ ---------------------Johnson-------King---------------------------------- --Gallagher---------------------------------------------------Nugent ----------------------------New Striker------------------------------------ I'm playing Abe as he is the closest we have to a pure defensive midfielder. The back 4 needs protection and he'll provide it best, and then move the ball quickly to our game changers.

Austin Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Schmeichel Pantsil Mills Konchesky Danns Wellens King Abe Johnson Hargreaves Fernandes Thats right Zero strikers, Boss midfield. In all seriousness .. Haydos' Line up is something I like the look of!
