6 aside - where are you all?

We've got over 10,000 members and apparently all interested in football so how come we can't get more than 30+ of you interested in playing some footy during the close season?

I'm sure there's plenty of valid excuses but there's equally plenty of, well just excuses.

It's a chance to play some footy in a relaxed friendly atmosphere, get some exercise, meet some fellow posters and have some fun.

If you're interested and note many of those already coming wont know each other then pm me or add your name to this topic:

Maybe its because there is only about 30 people in the foxestalk "incrowd" anyone outside this "incrowd" generally gets shot down in flames when they post anything resembling an opinion.

Feel free to shoot away.

I live miles away and cannae get there. I'm sure for those that can it would be good to go and meet a few in person rather than just bitch about them. Might be some alright people :dunno:

Well I will do because that is rubbish, many of those 30+ people are new to the forum and even more have never met each other. Of course there are people that know each other and appear to be an 'incrowd' but do you expect them to pretend not to know each other.

Over the life of this forum the so called 'incrowds' have come and gone new ones and friendships are created all the time as members meet, often by accident at the games they attend and by participating in events like this.

I've been on here almost from the beginning and knew no one when I joined the fact that I'm old enough to be most people's granddad hasn't stopped people being welcoming and critical of me.

We've all been 'shot down in flames' in our time, you should see some of the pm's I get you have to, like in real life develop a thick skin but if you or others want to use that as an excuse for not posting or not coming to any events then you've let the current apparent 'incrowd' win.

I repeat everyone is and will be welcomed to join in the footy.

Videos of the last time we played and most were meeting/playing with each other for the first time.

How do you know when your in the in crowd? And when are you out of the in crowd? And once you've been in and out of the in crowd do you have to shake it all about?

Rarely go into Leicester. Only times I go is when I go out for a meal on Granby Street which is not many times.

I rarely go into Leicester. The only times I go in is to watch the city on Filbert Way which is not many times. But I wouldn't let it stop me going in for something else.

What kind of reason is that?! That's like me saying "No I can't attend my holiday this year because it's in Australia and I rarely go there..." :dunno:

My reason is that I got a last-minute offer for a few weeks of intern work that I can't pass up and therefore won't be around. And very annoyed about it too... :(

Apologies for my withdrawal, I do have a geniune reason as I'm a stag do. I've played football against a few of the lads and at a Foxestalk 11 a side game before so I was actually up for this!

..... and I'm hardly the in crowd. I rarely post these days, do more reading! Old age .... it's made me lazy!

Wouldn't worry. Turn up, you'll enjoy it.

For the people who aren't in the "in crowd".... How are you ever going to get to know anyone if you don't come along?

please tel me this is not going to die a slow death??

No it's not! We have sufficient numbers to have decent tourno although it looks like we'll have to manage without referees.

will be away on holiday sorry..

I've no problem with people who can't make it I'm just surprised that we so many new young members we were inundated with people wanting to play, when I was young enough to play and despite being crap I always wanted to play. Maybe TV and video games have stronger hold these days.

Sorry to continue contributing when it's already clear I can't turn up but davieG I agree with you - seems the "even younger" generation would rather win the champion's league 6 times with Rochdale on FIFA than get out and have an afternoon of 6-a-side, that's a real shame. The number of games I've missed out on this year cos of one thing or another, so bloody frustrating given that I'm willing to bust a gut to take part in them yet there are obviously people who just can't be arsed...

seen people go on about an in crowd on here before. Makes me laugh. Its an internet forum, dont take it so seriously lol.

I work on sundays, shame
