cpfc Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 A very reliable source from our end says Leicester want Maynard & Clyne in the next week. He has sources at Leicester and knew about deals for St Ledger, Mills etc well before bids were made. He is never wrong. Clyne is a quality young right back who can play left back. He is 19 and has made over 100 apps for Palace and played every minute of every game last season. He has a year left on his contract and a looks like he wont sign a new contract. I would be very sad to see him go. Just thought i would let you know. Edit: Sorry for putting this is the wrong section.
Unabomber Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Would be a great signing, but seems abit odd after just buying Peltier.
Happy Fox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Cheers mate thanks for your info, a heads up about Clyne what are his strengths and weaknesses
Joe. Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Another positive rumour, but again another of those with a year left on his contract who would command £3 million plus.
Wymsey Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Would be a great signing, but seems abit odd after just buying Peltier. But every position needs competition...
bald reynard Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Would be a great signing, but seems abit odd after just buying Peltier. Peltier did play a lot in midfield for Huddersfield last season - perhaps Sven sees him as more of a Utility player - and Clyne might be being lined up as first choice right back ?
cpfc Posted 8 July 2011 Author Posted 8 July 2011 Ajax was all paper stuff. Edgar Davids now works at Ajax and people put 2 and 2 together. Clyne strengths. Very quick and not afraid to get forward.
Happy Fox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 looks like Libertine was right Posted Today, 08:20 AM Heard a rumour we bid for Nathaniel Clyne at Palace. As I say, RUMOUR.
Libertine Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 looks like Libertine was right Posted Today, 08:20 AM Heard a rumour we bid for Nathaniel Clyne at Palace. As I say, RUMOUR. Haha, just heard it on another forum. Guessing it was the same poster.
cpfc Posted 8 July 2011 Author Posted 8 July 2011 As for the fee i would expect nothing less then £2million to be accepted.
Simmo86 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Get it done Svennis. You little balding Swedish mastermind!
okie fox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Clyne strengths. Very quick and not afraid to get forward. Sounds like a like-for-like replacement for Naughton.
Happy Fox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 I always thought we would be in for Clyne when the Naughton deal was looking unlikely. He would certainly add competition with Peltier for the RB spot
Stevosevic Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Interesting, could be signed as competition and back up for Masilela/Peltier.
Libertine Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Get it done Svennis. You little balding Swedish mastermind! I WANT TO TICKLE HIS BIG BALD HEAD.
Happy Fox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 As I understand Peltier can play the holding role as well as RB, so if we sign Clyne maybe he will be first choice RB
Darkon84 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 How competant is he at left back? Maybe Masilelas work permit isnt looking good
cpfc Posted 8 July 2011 Author Posted 8 July 2011 He has only played LB a few times. So cant really say.
MikeyT Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Don't really know anything about him if i'm being honest, but competition for places can obviously only be a positive thing.
Happy Fox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Btw he rejected Wolves in January 2010. Who is this Sandown on twitter can you post the link please
cpfc Posted 8 July 2011 Author Posted 8 July 2011 Who is this Sandown on twitter can you post the link please Sure. Thats where i got it from. He has links to our owners. http://twitter.com/#!/Sandowneagle "You know I have been tweeting the Leicester signings a good few weeks before they've been announced then here's 1 that will interest you Nathaniel Clyne - you did here it here first & possibly before people at #cpfc know.
