Watched the Chavs play at Kettering today. They played the first team. They looked sharp esp Clingan And Jukeiwicz but not much to fear form the others.Lets just hope they dont get off to their usual fast start. :scarf: :scarf:

They will be a good workout for our first game......it will feel like a home game anyway..........not sure how much further they can fall.................but if the corpse is twitching we should kick it hard...............

i think we will beat coventry as i am an optimist but you should never disrespect your the team against you, disrespect them when we beat then 1-3

:crylaugh:

When did we last win there we always draw

Chav always start strong and the Ricoh is not a happy hunting ground for us.

3 points would be great but in reality we'll probably get 1

We always draw at the Richo, I predict the usual 1-1.

Coventry have won 7 and drawn 2 of their last 9 opening day fixtures.

It's pretty much definitely going to be a draw.

We've never won at the Ricoh, we last won at Highfield Road in 1999, it was 1-0.

Was it not a certain Emile Heskey that got the winner that day.....get him back now so he can do it again.

As for a bad hunting ground that win over Cov was the first in ages.

There are always a few upsets in the opening fixture. Look at last year when we lost at Palace.

Cov will treat the game with us as their cup final (it's as close as they'll ever get to one). This match is coming sooner than Sven would have wished as the new signings won't have had time to gel.

A point at the Ricoh, in the wider scheme of things, wouldn't be the end of the world.

Billy McKinlay from about 25 yards.

Our opening day record is shocking.

Having said that, when we win our first match, we tend to do very well (last three occasions we've had two promotions and a 5th place finish).

If we cant beat coventry home and away then you best forget promotion now. Coventry City are mid table chamionship team and have lost key players like Marlon King, we should really aim to be beating coventry and those that expect us to get top 2 should think about our expectations if you dont expect us to win.

If we dont beat Coventry id even go as far as to say we might not make the playoffs, we should really beat them.

??? I fully expect us to beat Cov, never said that I didn't. And I think they'll do well to be mid-table, can see a relegation scrap for them.

Haha!

You think because a certain result occurs in one game that will directly affect the whole season.

There should be an IQ test involved in signing up to this site.

Tbf, a certain result could not only affect the season itself, but a fair few to follow........ anyone remember Wycombe Wanderers. :(
