blueredswed Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 There's a great post on one of the Cov forums where the guy seems to believe that we've only been given an allocation of 2000. He's in for a shock on Saturday... :scarf: :crylaugh:

George Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 We had a better average attendance than you when we were in league 1, we didn't have much to shout about then but still got the crouds in. 2008/09 (the season we got relegated) your highest attendance was 22637 (against birmingham) and your lowest was 14621 (burnley) with an average of 17407 our highest was 30542 (against scunthorpe) and our lowest was 16378 (stockport) with an average of 20253 /argument You were winning week in week out, we were struggling week in week out. The season we finished in 8th position (2006) we were closer last season to the play offs points wise and we finished 19th. And yes, Leicester are a bigger club than Coventry, you do have a bigger fanbase and you are player for player a much better side, Im an honest bloke. Just think our home attendances aren't as bad as what people think, but then again they haven't been in our position, finishing between 15th and 19th from February onwards **** all to play for. At least a relegation battle galvanises a club, give a relegation battle of lower mid table shite any day of the week, least it will mean something.

Hope you are right, relegation battle for Cov, and whats that stupid statue of Jimmy Hill all about? Were you embarrassed by his wonderful rendition of that appaling song of yours?

George Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Anyway things are looking a little brighter for us, expected to confirm Le Fondre later in the week and James Mcfadden has been linked.

Well if you're talking about us winning week in week out, then look at the season before, where our lowest attendance was higher than your average.
Walshie is God Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Anyway things are looking a little brighter for us, expected to confirm Le Fondre later in the week and James Mcfadden has been linked. Le Fondre is a proven goalscorer, but we still need to create the chances for the fellow!
George Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Well if you're talking about us winning week in week out, then look at the season before, where our lowest attendance was higher than your average. Again, the season you come up as League 1 champions and done very well vs a season where we were again, shit. It's going to be a no contest.
JmorsonLCFC Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Again, the season you come up as League 1 champions and done very well vs a season where we were again, shit. It's going to be a no contest. i meant the season we got relegated.
Clarkielcfc Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Anyway things are looking a little brighter for us, expected to confirm Le Fondre later in the week and James Mcfadden has been linked. haha...and we have been linked with adebayor...doesnt mean we are getting him!! james mcfadden to cov...behave mate!!!!
Clarkielcfc Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 we dont actually care that you muppets have been 'linked' with someone decent...and as for le fondre...have you got the 1.5 million that they want??
dayday Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Georgy porgy.......you need to look back a bit before you open your mouth. Leicester stats. finished average attendance 2003/04 18th 30,982 2004/05 15th 23,750 2005/06 16th 22,233 2006/07 19th 23,207 2007/08 20th 23,508. Those five seasons on the bounce we were shocking,so really you are talking out of your botty......Leicester are and will always be bigger than you scummers

bluesbrothers Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 I'll be fair to Cov and say that it's a bastard of a ground to get to, so you lose a few thousand out of sheer lack of convenience. That said, for everyone who missed it, here's my flash movie that i made to sum up coventry. Coventry - The Season Ahead Try to ignore the scoreline. It's just to emphasise the point that Cov fans seem to get carried away every time they have an opening day victory.

Spudulike Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 we dont actually care that you muppets have been 'linked' with someone decent...and as for le fondre...have you got the 1.5 million that they want?? They probably will have now with this windfall we are providing them with. That's probably why they couldn't buy a striker 'til Leicester came to town. Probably also save them the -10pts for going into admin.

wattolcfc Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 So are we getting an extra 400 tickets? I know Leeds took 6300 odd last season so would be good if we could top that!
Matt Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 In the final few days build up to the opening of the new Championship season, some good news to report from Coventry City is that Leicester City have sold out their ticket allocation, so there high hopes of a 20,000 plus gate on Saturday.Read more: http://www.coventry.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=249360#ixzz1TtpEBj7U It's alright Cov, we'll bump your crowd up to make it '20,000' for you. Bearing in mind we'll have just under 7,000 there leaves 13,000 Cov fans there (Apparently ) we've got more Season Ticket Holders than that
Maybes Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 You were winning consistently in League one. You do have a bigger fanbase than you, im not disputing that. But you've had a lot more success than us in the past 10 years, Between the season the Ricoh opened up untill about 2 seasons ago we averaged 23,000 - 21,000. The past two years its gone down a lot, because we're shite. No you didn't. You've never averaged over the peak of 21,169 in the 05/06 season.
