MrSpaM Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Is it just me, or would you be pretty pissed off as a QPR supporter after hearing this interview with Warnock after they got knocked out of the cup by Rochdale. Warnock Interview I mean as a paying fan, to find out your team couldnt be bothered with this game before it had even kicked off, would you have bought a ticket to the game if you knew this before hand?

Finnegan Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Neil Warnock in obvious denial of failure shocker.
MikeyT Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Warnock is very similar to Marmite, in the sense that you either love him or hate him and there's rarely an in between. However, i think i'm an exception, in that sometimes i like him and sometimes i could quite happily garrote him. On hearing that i would be disappointed if i was a QPR supporter, surely no matter what cup it is you should want to attempt to win it as best as you can. It may not be the Champions League trophy, but nonetheless it's still a trophy in the cabinet if you win.
MikeyT Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Thought i'd check out the QPR forum and see what their thoughts are on it. Similar to what the OP said really. "That's a bit of a chicken and egg situation. I didn't care about last night's game because NW had made his attitude towards the competition perfectly plain last season, and I wasn't prepared to waste any more money on it. Had I thought they were going to take it seriously, I'd have gone, as I'm sure would plenty of others". "Fans don't care about the competition when their manager states they don't either". "Last year I went but the team and performance made it clear that Warnock didn't value the competition, if I thought he did I would have gone last night".
Guest Bilo Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 I'm torn between saying they should have let supporters in for free or very cheaply if the competition meant so little, or saying tough luck to them when it was perfectly clear last year that Colin didn't give a toss about the competition when they were dumped out by Port Vale. Seeing this bloke makes me lean towards the latter, because it's funny. Ultimately, it's tough to say whether I agree or disagree with his stance. Let's face it, it's the only way QPR are going to stand half a chance of qualifying for Europe and a cup run is always good for the fans but nobody wants to do a Birmingham where you're playing Nacional on the Wednesday and losing to Middlesbrough on the Sunday.

Some people take this game too seriously..
Darkon84 Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 I wouldnt care either if my team had just been smashed like that by a lower league team. EDIT: That fans a mentalist. Was proably involved in the riots
Corky Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Seems to be the current trend. You'd think people would want to look back on a career that produced a medal or two, winning one of the two main cups.
purpleronnie Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 I used to like him, he was always good for a quote but now he's so boring, comes out with the same old tired lines after a defeat, he's dull.
Guest MattP Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Least he is honest. I'm one of the few that would of loved him here, quite sure we would be in the prem now. That fan.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 the Cup Matches are the only ones QPR supporters can afford to go to! They can afford any games since the prices have dropped
purpleronnie Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Least he is honest. I'm one of the few that would of loved him here, quite sure we would be in the prem now. That fan. But no doubt if they had won he wouldn't say he didnt really care.
Guest MattP Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 But no doubt if they had won he wouldn't say he didnt really care. I think his team selection showed how much he cared to be honest.
purpleronnie Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Then I guess there was no need to say it, he certainly wouldn't had they won.
Guest MattP Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Then I guess there was no need to say it, he certainly wouldn't had they won. Thats fair.
ramboacdc Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 i dont get it...whats he want to change? make a bloody group stage?! its a cup. just because there isnt any money behind it doesnt mean you shouldnt give it a go for gods sake!
ozleicester Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 To quote Bernie... "Warnockkkkkk..... Warnoocckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk..... youre a ggggrrrrrrrrnnnnnndffpppphphpppppppppp"
Narborough Bod Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Would be interested to get the views of birmingham fans having won it last year but got relegated. Was it worth it?? Me personally, yes. A chance to watch european football for little old us. As for colin, cock, but entertaining. Hate him & wrote to the merc when milan was touting his name. Still a cock, but in hindsight i'd take him over holloway any time. Manager version of savage.
