Lineker's Left Foot Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Not got down to watch my beloved Foxes yet this year as living away at the mo, but I am rather interested in what up and coming youngsters we have coming through as I cannot find a link of the full Under 18 squad. I know Hopper sounds as though he is scoring and we've took on a couple of Arsenal lads, but just wondering who else is there to watch out for and have we still got this Peruvian wonderstar Pierre Larrauri. Any info would be great. Cheers
Aleksz Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Theres a lad called Joseph Dodoo who looks like he's going down the same path as Schlupp did, i.e Playing for the year above and even then scoring constistently so he looks like a decent prospect, but apart from Taft, Smith, Schlupp thats all i know of.
SuperScout Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 I reckon Sven should give some of these kids a go on Wednesday? what do the rest of you think? do you agree?
LCFCstriker Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 I reckon Sven should give some of these kids a go on Wednesday? what do the rest of you think? do you agree? I do agree with you, but The likes of moussa, st ledger, johnson, dyer etc need to play as well to keep everyone happy, while also allowing some gain match fitness
Houdini Logic Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Other than Schlupp I don't think they're registered in our squad?
The Doctor Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Other than Schlupp I don't think they're registered in our squad? U-21's don't need to be registered do they?
blueredswed Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 I suppose Sven will play the reserve team is against Cardiff. It is almost like our first team and all have to play to got fitness :scarf:
lcfc22 Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 How old is the Peruvian kid and how do people know he's suppose to be really good?
Raw Dykes Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 U-21's don't need to be registered do they? No, they don't. You're right. You can pick as many under 21s as you like. I think it's just players aged 22 or above that have to be registered.
SuperScout Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 How old is the Peruvian kid and how do people know he's suppose to be really good? Some top Clubs were after him, I've seen him play when I've been on business, he is extremely talented and if we can get more young players of this calibre and potential, in years to come there's no doubt we'll be playing Champions League Football.

Where aboots in Peru is he from? Huancabamba province? Yes I already made this joke in another thread, but how could i resist the opportunity to post it again. It's too good.

To answer the previous post he is 17 and to answer your post sphericalfox he was born in Lima, the Capital City of Peru.
Ric Flair Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 Have we played recently? I've not seen any reports or results since Dodoo bagged a hat-trick last month.
Rustyfox Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 regionalised reserve leagues is still needed in my opinion. its useful experience for the young lads to be involved in games with senior pro's.

A worthy ambition, but let's make sure we reach the Premier first before thinking any higher.
Raw Dykes Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 I don't think it's possible to overestimate how important a good scouting network is. If that Peruvian kid is as good as people have said, then I think it could be a very good sign for the club. If we have the scouts that can spot more players with bags of potential, we can start building a very strong squad for the future, whether they stay and play for us, or if we can sell them on for massive profit that we can use to strengthen the team.

Feet on the ground bro!
ramadaone Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 Have we played recently? I've not seen any reports or results since Dodoo bagged a hat-trick last month. Lost 3 nil to Ipswich on Sat which were the first points we have dropped so I guess Ipswich must be more than useful My mate has a lad in the Academy who played Forest at all the younger age groups and we won all of them except one and quite a few were by very big margins so that sounds promising

I don't think selling them in their 20's would be a good idea, else we're going to be repeatedly re building a team over and over again, if we keep a set of quality up and coming players together, allow them to gel, we'll become a force to be reckoned with. Remember the disastrous 2 years after Heskey and others were sold , I certainly don't and I'm sure all of you don't wanna go through that again

Remember the disastrous 2 years after Heskey and others were sold , I certainly don't and I'm sure all of you don't wanna go through that again It depends how much we get offered, doesn't it? If a young player turns out to be PL class, and attracts interest from the top clubs, then selling might be the only option. If he wants to leave, and we get offered silly money, then you'd have to be mental not to sell. That money can be used to strengthen the team across the board, or be used to bring in many more young potential stars. I agree that filling the youth team with massive potential is a recipe for success, because those players, if many make it to the first team together, will already know each other so well. However, sometimes selling is by far the best option, and I'm just saying it's not always such a bad thing to let a star player leave if the price is right.
